My feet hurt!

I am working 16 hour shifts on the weekends and my feet burn something awful by the end of the second say. So does anyone know of a good shoe that might help? I have tried Danskos and they aren't doing it for me.......

I don't know if anyone has mentioned these shoes here yet, but I LOVE the new Sketchers Shape-ups! They help my feet and my back! I'm recovering from a herniated disc with sciatica and they're the only shoes I can wear all day and not have any back pain. A friend of mine has plantar fasciitis and she swears by them.

I :heartbeat:heartbeat:heartbeat my Crocs. I have tried various styles but the mercy work and bistro styles are the most comfortable for long hours on your feet. The bonus with Crocs is you can wash them any time you need to...:nurse:

Would you say Mercy or Bistros are better? I have Bistros and I LOVE them, but the Mercy ones are slimmer and "cuter" (for being Crocs, anyway) but I'm really going for comfort. Which ones would you recommend?

Thanks in advance.

Faith,

I have had the Bistro's much longer but the few times I have worn the Mercy, they are comfortable. I really like them both :nurse:

nike running shoes are great for me, also I heard shoes with blue heart are good I forgat their name

I second on Alegria Shoes. I love their footbed, it just works! No more pain after long hours shifts. plus all the fun colors and print, I am now officially a slave of Alegria Shoes. :p

But yeah, why do you work 16 hour shifts? that's just not right for both you and the patients.

Nike Shox are the best shoes ever for long shifts... I buy 1 pair a year at 120 dollars! They are worth every penny.

I suffered from plantar faciitis for several years and there wasnt any treatment that worked.... The nike shox took care of my problem and i have been pain free for 4 years now.. yay!

I swear by TED hose. They make your legs feel great even for days after you've worn them!

ugh, so today I wore my knock of uggs to work ( I work in a group home) instead of my nike shox.. my feet are killing me!

It might be the socks/stockings u have on. I rarely wear synthetic socks/stockings because they make my feet burn after about 5 hours & my feet sweat as well, cos they cannot breathe.

I invested in very good what are called pillow socks, they have like extra padding at the bottom and are made of wool. U can even buy socks for men instead, sometimes they are a little cheaper. Also buy a good foot deodorant and/or powder to help your skin. You also need leather shoes, not synthetic ones, so ur feet can breathe a little.

And a good foot spa at the end of the day helps too!

TED hose and Dansko clogs!!!

I think they have all given you the answers and help you needed in fact I am even trilled by the answers that mind don't even have a place. Hope you are more comfy at work now. It is very important to be good in ones skin to performs ones duties at a max rate.

.

I agree with this! I always wanted to try Alegria, but the sole was too high for me (I turn my ankles easily and I'm clumsy, so I try to stay away from anything more than an inch high, as far as heels/platforms/soles go). Then they came out with the Feliz, which has a lower sole, but still has the awesome footbed and mild rocker sole.

They are AWESOME. They have great arch support and the sole is very stabile, but the footbed has memory foam and cork and is super comfy. I rotate them with my Birkis clogs and Crocs Mercy Works, and my feet never hurt anymore.
