i'l be workin in a med-surg floor at maryvale hosp. anything nice to say about this particular hospital?
hope 2 hear from u.:)
It has been in the very sunny mid 70s all week here. Havin gjust returned to the valley fairly recently myself, can't offer anyhting on Maryvale. But you will live all of the shopping available all over.
Glad to have you Betty. I am a student nurse from Phoenix college. We do a lot of our clinicals at St. Joe's, you will love it there. They treat foreign nurses very well. As for Phoenix it will be your new place in the sun. I have lived here for 5 yrs. and loved every min. You will feel welcomed as most of us are transplanted Arizonians. You made a great choice. Let us know how things are progressing and of course when you make the big move. Congratulations! Betty. :balloons:

Hi All,
I am moving to Arizona (Tucson) come April. I'm with OGP, as it seem quite a few people are. I am originaly from Jamaica. Lived in the Uk for 5 yrs and now moving on. (living the dream!). The info onsite is quite helpful.
Someone posted a query about shipping stuff from Manchester. If you are still interested I can help. I will be at ST. MAry's. Anyone with 1st hand experience there. Also what is a realistic pay rate at present.
Also what's the black community like?
Any info on schools and communities near to ST. Mary's?
Thanks

Hi,
Where in Manchester are you from? I am from manchester and trained in Withington/wythenshawe hospital and will hopefully be moving to AZ in jan 06
I hope you get done soon. The shipping agent is on
0161-226-3904
They will pick up your stuff and provide containers. I know they collected stuff in Durham so you should be within their reach. However for US Customs purposes make sure you document everything you pack and send a copy of the list. Be prepared to provide identification documents to go along. But they should tell you what to do, things have changed since 9/11.
Hope this suits you. See you in Arizona
Also, it's more cost-effective to send 3 barrels rather than 1 or 2 as you pay according to the size of the shipping container rather than weight of your stuff. Apparently 3 barrels equate the dimension. If you use barrels you get more stuff in and they are waterproof. Also if you are really attached to your PC, as I am. Check if it has switch at the back that allows you to step down the voltage to 110 (a lot of them do) and take it in a carry-on case. (the monitor etc may be too much to take).
