Missing my partner :*(

Nurses LPN/LVN

I know I haven't been on here a lot.. I guess I just need to vent. My partner of 13 years, Sherry passed away recently. Basically, she collapsed at home. She was alert and lucid when I went to get the phone to call 911, but when I got back to her, she was unresponsive. I did what I had to do, started cpr, called for help... but I guess her brain went without oxygen for too long. This happened on a Thurs night. Sun night, I made the hardest decision of my life... to let her go. :*( I know her spirit and soul were already gone, I was holding out for good results on an EEG. Some of her organs had begun to fail, and she just went downhill way too fast.

I miss her SO much, and I know time will play a huge part in my healing.....right now, breathing and blinking take too much of an effort....I love and miss you, Sherry, forever and ever, amen. XOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXO

So sorry for your loss. Please talk to a grief or bereavement counselor. Many hospices offer this service even though your partner was not on their service. Take your time and take care of yourself and let others help you.

I lost my mother 1 month ago and I tried to keep busy, went back to work. My doctor made me take a LOA since apparently I had not taken time to grieve.

Hugs/prayers/thoughts are with you. Feel free to message me if you want to talk.

The scenario you laid out is very traumatic. These are images which will stay with you forever.

It's going to be a while before you feel better. There is no way through to the other side of grief, but through it. Allow yourself the luxury of grieving, because you've earned every moment of it. It's your right, and it's normal to feel gutted by grief. Own it, but don't let it own you.

One day, the sun is going to peek through a little, then it will go behind the clouds again and then peak out again and so forth until one day, it's mostly sunny.

It's going to suck in the meantime. It just is. Take care of you, talk about it (with friends or a professional), write about it, remember Sherry often and tell her story to anyone who will listen.

So sorry For your loss. Be strong.

I'm so sorry for your loss... I lost my big brother a month and a half ago, I still miss him tremendously but the pain in my heart has lessened a tiny bit each day. Cherish every memory you made together and take comfort knowing her last moments on this earth were surrounded by love. (((Hugs)))
