There are still physicians at the hospital where I work ordering milk and molasses enemas. Is anyone else out there still using these?! If so, what is the procedure followed for mixing and administering?
Thanks

That's a loooooong way... I was taught 3-4" max for an adult. Has anyone ever inserted a foot of tubing?
Not quite that far but to the point of slight resistance...........we had a MD who always ordered 3H enemas......
High....Hot....and a helluva lot!

no way, never 12 inches. That's just ridiculous.
I remember when those 3H enemas from the 70's! Also,"Enemas till clear" was a common order for test prep, and some patients tolerated it very poorly. I, too, thought someone was yanking my chain when I first heard of an M&M enema. I've never given one. Are they worse than Kayexelate PR? Hate that stuff!

I have done several of them. They are a sticky mess but do work.
