We had our first lecture today and I think it is going to be a really good class. It sparked my interest.

My teacher's pretty weird. Lectures wild and made the mistake of giving carbon an atomic number of 12 rather than 6. A fellow student had to correct him *lol*
Obviously, we're on the chemistry chapter.
I can't wait to grow some cultures.

Good luck with your scattered professor :)

This is my second week in micro. We have had 2 labs so far. We did a smear, and we did a Gram positive and Gram negative today. I'm not much of a lab person, although I might like it better when I get to see if I have done my slides correctly. We haven't got to see our 2 slides yet. We have our first test on Monday. I like my instructor. She has over 25 years in the field, and really breaks it down into realistic world view terms. She has told us that for every hour she lectures we should study for 2 hours. So it is going to be a learning experience all the way around! LOL

Yippee....week one down...15 more to go. We worked on collecting and growing bacteria in the agar and next week we are doing gram stains. I don't really know if I am going to like the lecture style of my teacher...she talks super fast, says random things and removes her ppt's before you can write anything down. I hope I can learn her style after the first test and go from there. How's it going for everyone else so far?
Sounds like a pretty reasonable suggestion. I dont think that will be a problem. If you dont wait till the last minute to study, it shouldnt be too draining, and you will retain it better, or at least I do. Time to dive in. :smiletea2:

That is ashame. Our instructor spends so much time elaborating on each ppt. slide that we have plenty of time to take notes. He is very knowlegeable on the subject. I feel very positive about it.
