:welcome: Gonna try to stick this one!!! Heres to a wonderful semester for all us MBers :):welcome:

Good luck with your scattered professor :)

He claims to have made that mistake on the carbon because he was up the whole night watching infotelevision. What the heck? :rotfl:

Another thing that irritates me about this teacher is that he uses thin red ink rather than black ink. Okay...how good is your vision way back of the class? :chair:

We already had our first test and I am off to a pretty decent start so that is pretty exciting. That being said, its kinda boring, at least to me thus far. Anyone else? I have heard from a bunch of people how awesome Micro is...I am waiting...;)

I guess everyone has his/her own set of interest, but so far, we are studying mainly viruses, bacteria, and other disease causing pathogens. I love it so far. It is very interesting.

Am using the Tortora/Funke/Case Micrbio text and am wondering where I can find the answers to the purple "Figure Legend Questions." The purple questions also appear at the end of a section. I understand that they are suposed to be simple/self explanatory and the answer should be found in the preceding text or graphic....but in a couple cases the answer could be open to interpretation. Anybody out there have any sugestions?

BlessedMon,

We are starting out slowly as well. We just went over the parts of a microscope, etc..

As I am taking the online class, no in person cootie growing for me.

Bert,

Good question. If you have specific questions that you cant find an answer to, why dont you post it here so we can all bounce it around?

:roll HEY EVERYONE,

I AM TAKING MICROBIOLOGY THIS SPRING AS WELL, WE HAVE ONLY HAD ONE CLASS SO FAR, AND IT SEEMS VERY INTERESTING. I LOOK FORWARD TO GETTING TO KNOW ALL OF YOU, AND HOPEFULLY WE CAN ALL BE A GOOD SOURCE OF SUPPORT FOR ONE ANOTHER

Well I had my first day of micro yesterday. I really think I am going to enjoy it, I like the instructor alot she seems really good very friendly and has an obvious interest in the subject matter.

Its going to be alot of work though, of course i knew that getting into it but boy oh boy I am getting a reality check now. I am taking AP102 and this class everyone says don't I see why now, I had major anxiety over it last night. I am going to try and get in a routine here next week and see how it goes. The problem with AP2 is you know how bad it can get after coming out of ap1. I did great in that class but boy it was a ton of work and I hear 2 is even more so. I liken it to having a 2nd child its all fine and dandy when your pregnant but when you go into the delivery room the 2nd time you have flash backs of your first birthing experience and think WHAT AM I DOING? hehehehehe.

Today was our 2nd day. So far we have completed about 3 chapters and 2 labs. Our first lab was about the importance of hand washing (20 second rule). Our second lab was creating media to inoculate germs/bacteria in order for them to "grow". Pretty fun. Can't wait for next week!

I love microbiology. I hated regular biology but for some reason i love micrbiology. Maybe it's the teacher i have. Teachers can make all the difference if you have a good one. I think it's going to be a good course. Good luck to all of you. I hope you do well. :)

I'm in micro this semester as well. I've really been enjoying it..its good material to cover but also the teacher--he's about as goofy as they come! He really makes it enjoyable... Today we made gram stains..woohooo!!! Good luck to all!!

Specializes in OR Internship starting in Jan!!.

Good luck everyone. I'm following along because I'll have to take micro this summer.
