Choo Choo!!!!! LOL Right there with y'all! I have 3 ds ages 15, 6 and 4. They are all about to have birthdays-March, April and May--so we live on the crazy train! I have micro and mth 116, looking for a part time job, and will be applying for the nursing program in the next week or so. We also just had our house replumbed so that will be a chapter in the book that I will write someday! Do any of you work in the medical field now while going to school??? I was wondering if that would help me in the actual nursing school. Thanks for all the input!!! geegeegirl

We are going to be testing disinfectants tomorrow in lab. We did a gram stain on some "bugs" that we colonized and then slanted on Monday. I was unsure if my slide would be correct with the gram staining that I did, but it turned out fine! I am getting into the microscopes and looking forward to lab days. We also had a test on Monday, I'm not sure I am looking forward to that. The test was on glycolysis and metabolism. I do hope she has them graded because I hate the waiting...even if it isn't good! I like hearing what everybody else is doing. The pics on the walls is a good idea if you can handle it! LOL Keep posting with the good ideas and what is happening in your worlds. I have already had my first test and I made an 82. I was proud of my 82! We will be having a test on glycolysis and that is a little confusing to me. I do understand bits and pieces, but it's putting it all together that is giving me problems. I have been studying it tonight and I hope tomorrow after a good nights rest I will understand it better. Any suggestions would be great!!!!! I am open to any helps and ideas!!!!!

This is my second week in micro. We have had 2 labs so far. We did a smear, and we did a Gram positive and Gram negative today. I'm not much of a lab person, although I might like it better when I get to see if I have done my slides correctly. We haven't got to see our 2 slides yet. We have our first test on Monday. I like my instructor. She has over 25 years in the field, and really breaks it down into realistic world view terms. She has told us that for every hour she lectures we should study for 2 hours. So it is going to be a learning experience all the way around! LOL

I am in Rainsville, in N. Alabama. I am going to apply at Northeast (where I am currently attending), Calhoun (Decatur), JSU, Gadsden St., and I thought about Hanceville. I have to get in this year. I can't wait another year! I am hoping that if I don't get in at Northeast that I can carpool with some others. I have been told by other RN's that getting a CNA job or anything on the floor would be helpful, but finding a job in our small town might be a trick. Jobs are hard to find and I don't want to have to drive an hour or more just to make a little over min wage on a part time basis when I could be studying! Any advice would be great!!!
