Hey ya'll!

I am new to allnurses and just was curious what everyones usernames mean. I know there are previous thread for this but I figured there have been some username changes and new members since then.

As you can see my username is Flightless and its just short for flightless bird AKA penguin which are my favorite animal lol I had a hard time trying to pick a username that was unique but didn't give me away! Haha!

So lets hear it!

Awww, hell. I didn't know we got to brag about our band geek hood.

I was first chair, tuba. Granted, I was the *only* tuba ...

I tried color guard. My mad tuba skills didn't translate to flag skills [emoji26]. I was awful.

I'm orchestra. 1st chair cello, 2nd chair violin. Fiddle when I'm rocking it with my sons! I taught oldest electric guitar and fiddle. Youngest I taught drums and bass. He taught himself piano. Neither reads a lick of music

Specializes in ER/Critical Care/Accrediation/PI/Quality.

Hi, I enjoyed reading everyone's reaons for their usernames. I chose mine to reflect a positive state of mind and to protect my identity. I'd like to write about topics that challenge conventional wisdom and I fear repercussions (not from patients, from facilities where I have worked).

Specializes in Critical Care, ER, Cath lab.

I was a firefighter/paramedic when I started nursing school. Graduated the fire academy in 2012. Taking my NCLEX next month.

Specializes in MICU/CCU, SD, home health, neo, travel.

My initial identity was too close to my real one, so I decided to change it. I'm quite small so tried to think of something denoting that and came up with "Chickpea" which they told me was a "bad name" so since I didn't want to be "Garbanzo" I changed it to the Italian-American version and became "CeciBean". The avatar is a)because I'm astrologically a Cancer, and b)because for most of my 30 years I worked nights. Preferred them.

Choir geek. Second alto. Forever.

Specializes in LTC, CPR instructor, First aid instructor..

Mine is obvious too, but when we had nicknames on this site, mine was lumpofclay. It comes from the book of Genesis. Adam was formed from the earth, and God named him. The mame means red clay. So I considered myself to be a lumpofclay who God was molding throughout my life experiences.

My user name is my surname...

Expat living in NEw Zealand. And so glad I do! American nursing seems to be bad.

Specializes in Geriatrics.

In Oregon along the coast the blackberries are wild and plentiful, and during the late summer I would pick gallons of them and make jam and such. It was a favorite time in my life, a lot simpler, and I loved being productive with such a wild bounty. The 74 is the year I was born =)

My user name means 'nursing' in Irish. Initially (and since I don't run into many Irish speakers) I had a different Irish word in mind that I was going to use. Good taste prevailed though and I kept it polite instead.

Banaltracht,

Slainte!

Specializes in Medical-Surgical/Float Pool/Stepdown.

Mine is boring but it is the first initial for me, my husband, and my two sons in order from oldest to youngest. It has been our "username/@" since the last kid was born over a decade ago - he was a surprise :inlove:! And of course, I'm a RN :nurse:
