Hi guys!

I was hoping to get to know some of the people that will be applying to the Spring 12 nursing program.

I've been following the MDC Fall 2011 =) thread and I'm super excited for them, but now I'm even more excited since this time it's finally me who is applying to the nursing program.

So...who else is applying???? :redbeathe

Hey everyone, have any you tried to register for the courses before orientation? The homestead orientation is on the 29th and i was told we could register before but when i try to register, a message comes up that says that i am not admitted to the program. Does anyone else have ths problem?

by the way i will be doing the generic full time in homestead.

Hey naty,

A couple of us (including myself) had registered the day before orientation for generic f/t and we didn't have any problems. I was actually at work and had registered for my classes after 7 pm. I was able to register even though my program code was still under the generic pre-select code. During orientation, one of the speakers said that our program codes should have changed already and when I looked, it had.

I don't know if it'll be the same with the homestead campus but try registering again tomorrow like in the afternoon or evening. If you still can't register just wait until orientation (make sure you bring your laptop or have a smartphone or something because it will get crazy once they give the o-k to register).

I remember some guy receiving an error message when he tried to register 'during' the orientation and when he asked about it, I believe they had to do something (exactly what, I'm not sure) so he could register.

@p_funk or anyone in this forum: i went on the mdc son website to check their entrance date as to went the accept student and deadline date; and i was having a lot of problem finding this information. can you tell me if mdc son is an open admission, when do they accept student and deadline dates? also, do they offer orientaions like most do? thanks...

the deadline to submit your application would be:

may 1st for the fall term

september 1st for the spring term

their website is a little tricky, you really have to browse around the whole son website to find answers to your questions. anywhere from program requirements to faqs.

the faqs link posted below should answer a few of your questions (i hope) :confused:

as far as orientation goes, yes mdc has them. it just depends on what program you're in to know what date you go (once accepted of course).

  • CHM 1033 and 1033L
  • PHI 2604 and ENC 1101
  • BSC 2085 and 2085L*
  • BSC 2086 and 2086L*"

Is this right? Because the site stated that the General Ed courses and the Natural Science courses has to successfully completed before the application deadline. Excuse me for asking so much questions, but when I called once they directed me straight to the SON website; and my thoughts are still confused. So thank you again for taking the time to help.

Yes, that is correct, but those aren't all of the pre-reqs. And I understand the confusion, trust me I was researching my info while I was still in high school before I even registered for my first class at mdc. I have years of experience and sometimes 'over the phone conversations' don't really help much when you're really trying to gather information.

How rude of me..... I never asked which program you want to apply to. I just assumed the generic route because it's mdc's traditional program. :smackingf

I am looking forward to the Generic Fulltime program; and I have almost all the courses completed and I haven't taken the Teas as of yet. That's why I want to get things situated before 2013 entrance.

Has anyone who is starting FT Homestead been able to register for classes? I would think by now we should be able to :confused:

Nope, I haven't been able to. The message I get says I haven't been admitted to the program at this point. Is that the same thing that you're getting?

I guess we'll have to wait until tomorrow!

Speaking of which...

Aselva, Naty, Neyla and Madarmes...do you guys want to meet up before orientation tomorrow? I'll be there as early as I can be. We can meet up by the vending machines unless anyone has a better idea. Let me know!

I would love to meet all of you and maybe we can register for some of the same classes if we are in the same sequence.The vending machines sound great to me.:nurse:
