  1. Yes, I'll keep you posted lol
  2. I mean I just registered regustered for my first semster just yesterday, so I haven't even started. I've seen a lot of mixed reviews but majority were good and I have a friend that I work with who said the program was really good, but just a little pricey. She said after she graduated, she felt really prepared to sit for boards. She took it once and passed and now she's working as a np.
  3. Super excited to start the FNP Program at Nursing@Simmons for the March 2018 cohort! Has anybody else applied for this cohort or thinking about applying? Does anybody who's currently attending the FNP @ Simmons have any input or advise to give the prospective students?
  4. I actually got everything done at the medical campus.
  5. I'm actually not working as a nurse. I've had my license since Nov. and I'm still looking. But as far as the bsn program goes you can opt for face to face or online. From what I've seen, if you do face to face it's only like maybe 2-3 days on campus.
  6. No problem! I too have orientation on the the 15th for the bsn program so I'll be starting again right along with you guys lol
  7. Yea I got them done a while ago only bc I didn't want to have to rush to get everything done. How about you?
  8. Hey, CONGRATS again to everyone that got accepted into the nursing program!!! As per requested, I'll try to tell you as much as I can remember about the Nursing Orientation. Sorry if it's long..... Considering I had my orientation for the FT Generic Program in 2012, I'm pretty sure a few things have changed. But in orientation they give you the nursing school handbook and make you sign the contract at the end of the handbook. The handbook basically is a guideline telling you everything you need to know about nursing school: program policies (on attendance, uniform, picking sequences, expectations of an mdc nursing student, and etc.). Just the basics. They also give you a list of all the books you'd pretty much need throughout your entire program. Reps from the bookstore came and talked about some stuff that you could find in the bookstore as well. You also got to pick to your classes (that was towards the end of orientation). If you were to try to pick your classes before orientation day, the classes wouldn't go through bc the faculty has to put in some code to allow you to do so. I know on mdc's website (and some may have even gotten emails) saying that you can start registering for classes, but they highly suggest that you wait until they give you the okay to do so at orientation. So don't be alarmed if you tried to register for classes and it doesn't actually register. They also checked to make sure you turned in all of your documents. Even if you have already done so, I suggest that you still bring a copy of everything just to be on the safe side. I know a couple of people had problems with mdc saying they were missing documents. Can't remember anything else right now. But hey if you guys have anymore ques, don't hesitate to ask me ...I'll try to help as much as I can.
  9. You're SUPER LATE!! lol yes I got in! Congrats to you!!!!
  10. 1st semester: Def used fundamentals and pharm book. I really didn't have to use the assessment book bc my prof used her own lecture notes. We really used the Davis drug guide. Rarely tabers. If anything, I'd have to see the book list bc they may have changed some things
  11. Hey! Congrats to all of those who got their acceptance emails already. I graduated from MDC FT Generic Program last May so I've been exactly where you guys are now. To those who haven't received their emails yet, don't give up!!! I too got my acceptance email for the BSN program today and I'm extremely thrilled!!! GOOD LUCK TO EVERYBODY!!! If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask me!
  12. Heyyyyyy!!! Check your mdc account. I got my acceptance email for the bsn program!!!!!!
  13. I'm not really sure considering ENC 1102 is a requirement for entry into the actual ADN program. As far as the BSN program, I'm assuming that that course should've been taken already.
  14. Okay that's what I thought.
