It was a pleasure meeting you guys yesterday! I am looking forward to our journey as well. Meanwhile we need to buy lots of supplies so if you guys have sugestions on where to buy quality items at better prices than what they sell for at the book store your lets share the info on the forum..

Zepphead, I got there about 10 minutes before we were let in but everyone was in groups I forgot who was wearing what and was intimidated lol so I just stuck to the one person I knew.

I have been looking online for a decent light pen but most have bad reviews that's it only lasted them a week and then it stopped working.

Does anyone know what's in the $99 nurse pack?

This sux: I got a call yesterday from the South Florida Workforce. They have changed their procedure. Now you have to look for a job with them for 4 months before they send you to school. So the first semester of nursing school is a self-paid ride. What a bummer!

Anyone esle heard the bad news?

Is anyone else having an issue with the background check. Apparently they had a technical issue and everything is backed up so I will have to go back to medical again when I get the email (ugh) The girl at the desk seemed like she was having a bad day!

I haven't had an issue, but I know a lot of people at my orientation were having issues with the background check, and they said there was a backlog.

I know that all documentation is supposed to be submitted/cleared by Monday 12/5, but I suppose they'll be making allowances since the holdup is on their side.

As far as the lady working the front desk, she seemed pretty overwhelmed when I was there, but I managed to make her laugh. I would imagine it's really tough to get upset calls from 100+ people about the same thing :eek:

In any case, I wouldn't worry too much, you should be fine!

Hey Mishell,

I am having the same issues, I called and spoke to the department in charge of sending the information to MDC. They said there is a delay because of technical issues. I called MDC as well and they said to not worry, classes will not be dropped by the deadline which is Dec. 5. Students will also not be removed from the program since they know it's an outside matter outside the student's control. At MDC they got my information and will be calling me as soon as they get the background info, but to keep looking at my email everyday for the confirmation. Once you get the confirmation email, print it, and bring that to MDC to finalize the paperwork.

I JUST GOT THE CALL FROM BAPTIST, I GOT ACCEPTED INTO THE PROGRAM!!! OMG I'M SO EXCITED.

Hey everyone, congrats jael... i got accepted too! they called me today at 11. when is the orientation? They just told me the books are the same, we still need the mdc uniform plus a forest green uniform. They also told me that the hr department will be calling. let me know if they told you anything else. ooo and what happens with our schedule?
