Congrats Jael and Naty and the others who got accepted into the Baptist Scholars!!
I called in to check if I got in but unfortunatly I did not. I am so, so sad!!!!

Neyla don't be discouraged or sad, you already made a huge accomplishment by getting accepted to the MDC program and the way I see it is that your not missing out on Baptist, Baptist is missing out on you, so use this as motivation to work hard for the next 2 years to prove Baptist wrong =) God Bless

Agreed, it's very disappointing to be rejected from the program, but we still have a lot of work ahead of us, and now isn't the time to get discouraged.

We will all go on to become great nurses, it's just not going to be at Baptist right now. There is a plan out there for all of us!

To those who got into the Scholars Program, congratulations!!! You have obviously earned it. Well done!

Hey everyone, congrats jael... i got accepted too! they called me today at 11. when is the orientation? They just told me the books are the same, we still need the mdc uniform plus a forest green uniform. They also told me that the hr department will be calling. let me know if they told you anything else. ooo and what happens with our schedule?

I wonder if I'll get a call either way, if I was accepted into the scholars program or not?!?! Do you think all the calls went out already?

I JUST GOT THE CALL FROM BAPTIST, I GOT ACCEPTED INTO THE PROGRAM!!! OMG I'M SO EXCITED.

:DDD! Congratssss! Sorry I didn't text you back! I've been super busy with work! My phones has to be off at work so I think I'm gonna call them tomorrow to see if I got in or not.

Everyone who got in to Baptist congratss! And to those who haven't, don't worry about. Just think of it as the first step in our careers. Make spectacular impressions during clinicals and you'll see that the hospitals will throw themselves at you lol . Be happy that you've gotten into nursing school when there are so many others who would give anything to have your spot. Later guysss! Crossing my fingers, let ya'll know tomorrow :eek:

AlexLL, I got called around 12:45-1:30. I don't remember exactly I lost track of time at that moment. LOL.

Neyla, don't ever get ever discouraged. You all made great accomplishment getting to this point. So nothing is ever a failure, just an opportunity for another door to open that is meant for you. Good Luck!

Naty, HR will be calling us this week to go in to turn in our medical paperwork, and do the background check Baptist Hospital requires. From what I understood, orientation dates were gonna be given to us after HR process is complete. I'm gonna call tomorrow to get the full details, and get back to everyone.

Raptor, My friend who got in the Baptist program last semester at Nova, said they don't call if you didn't get in. Basically she put it like this. If they call you and you get a letter in the mail, your in, but the call is sufficient. If you get the letter in the mail and they never called you, then you didn't get in.

Hi! blissberry,

Are you talking about the SFL Workforce in Homestead? I have been calling them. They are quite pretty good about everything. Remember, one of the requirement is that you have to be unemployed and you have been using employflorida. They said that I already been approved but they cannot issue the voucher because they are having an issue with their account with MDC. Until then, they requested today to extend my payment until the end of the month.

I cannot wait for them to reconcile the account so that I can get my books and uniforms too.

Anybody else having the same issue about the WIA???

Hello,
I just joined this forum and have read through some pages of posts, which have answered a few of my questions. I recently got accepted to the accelerated option, but since I was called in after the regular orientation had been conducted I am a bit lost, to say the least. I already have most of my required paperwork done, I am still pending results on all lab tests, which due to the coming holiday won't be available until next Wednesday. I spoke to the lady in charge of receiving the required materials and I will not be able to get my make up orientation (a video of the original orientation) or any other important information until all paperwork is turned in. I was wondering if any of my future peers, would mind bringing me up to speed. I don't expect a play by play of orientation day, but any information you feel is time sensitive (since I see many of you already buying books: do we need to start reading material?) I would appreciate the info. Thanks in advance for any help! -GQ
