Hey guys, I'm in my second semester at MDC in the full-time generic and I just came by to give you guys some words of advice. Don't freak out! I know it's hard because you all wanna know really bad but MDC always makes us sweat it out. School costs do get around the 2,000 range with tuition and everything. It really isn't that bad considering some of my friends who are at Barry paying like 13,000 for one semester. To those who get accepted, get your things done ASAP, as in the same day you find out, go get all your paperwork and physical and blood tests done. MDC does give you guys time to get it all in, so don't freak out. I would say though to go get the tithers done now even if you don't get in, if you plan to try to apply to spring you'll have them done. (Spring is a lot easier to get into btw guys). Study as soon as you get your books and learn not to procrastinate, I cannot stress this enough. I procrastinate and it takes its toll, I promise you that. Become friends with past students and the ones who are in the program now. It's helpful, don't be afraid, we can give you a lot of tips. To add to that, get friendly with the people in your program ladies and gents, they're gonna be your family for the next year and a half! :) Good luck to everyone, I wish you could all get in, get to know the older nursing students like me (I'll teach you the ropes! lol), STUDY, and get your things done ASAP. :DDD! Congratssss! Sorry I didn't text you back! I've been super busy with work! My phones has to be off at work so I think I'm gonna call them tomorrow to see if I got in or not. Everyone who got in to Baptist congratss! And to those who haven't, don't worry about. Just think of it as the first step in our careers. Make spectacular impressions during clinicals and you'll see that the hospitals will throw themselves at you lol . Guysss! I had my interview today! I have never been more surprised than I have been today on how I pulled those answers out of my ass! Lol. It wasn't been and the interviewers were very nice. They encourage you to ask questions at the end. They're passing rate for MDC students was 100% last NCLEX exam. If that isn't amazing idk what is. Ask questions and relate your answers to the job. I told them I was a better working alone than together in a group but I tried to convey that that only makes me stronger independently. But seriously don't freak out. Look nice! I know they were looking me up and down. Don't show you're nervous and try to come off as a strong person. Good luck guys!!

Tomorrow's orientation and I'm super excited ! Can't wait to meet all you guys and gals! :)

To everyone new who's gotten in and gotten their acceptance letters: CONGRATS! I'm so happy for you guys especially Faith! You deserve it and I'm so excited for you ! I'm super anxious to meet everyone going to Medical Campus :) Has anyone heard from Baptist by the way? Hope we hear something soon!

At least I'm not the only one. I really hope they can make an exception because it's such a short amount of time. I really don't wanna go to CPR/BLS class on Saturday feeling all sad because I wasn't able to get all my things in for the scholarship. Here's hoping for the best! :)

OH NOOO! I was gonna apply for the Baptist scholarship but I completely forgot to order my transcript from MDC ! Idk what to do, I ordered a couple a while ago but I never went to pick them up. Do you guys think they might still have them?

Hey Jael, for the CPR class go here: https://sisvsr.mdc.edu/ce/showsched.aspx?catID=B1A&chkNO=on They have classes available. I don't know if it's free for you but I had to pay $75. I guess you'd have to ask MDC.

I'm going on Tuesday to accept my seat ! I have to get one more recommendation for the Baptist Scholarship and tomorrow I'm getting my fingerprints done and then straight off to work. My Dr appt is probably gonna be for Wednesday and I'm taking my CPR course Saturday. Sooooo many things to do before orientation!. Also, I was looking at the classes and it seems like we're pretty much gonna have a class per day which is crazy because the rest of the time means it's time to study! Let's start making study groups! They're gonna be super important! Time to live in the library!

Hey Neyla :) I got an 83.3 on my TEAS and I have a 3.7 Science GPA. Hopefully that's good enough. Last application pool was intense. I went to talk to an adviser and she had told me that the lowest score they accepted was an 80. I hope that this time it's not that crazy.

It's October ! Super nervous! This is my second time applying. I hope I get in. Hopefully we get the responses soon. :)
