NCLEX 265 questions
I took the NCLEX yesterday, and after reaching 265, I left feeling like I failed and said, "I studied so much and did great in nursing school, to come and fail here.' AND I got my results today and passed!!!

how important is GPA?
Personally I wouldn't concentrate on the "GPA" goal you think is required or not. But rather on focusing all your energy on your courses, and doing the best you can. If you study hard, have faith, your hard work will determine your grades and you will succeed. Good Luck!!

MDC Spring 2012 :)
Hey Cristy13, All the courses are at the main hospital where we had the interviews. The classrooms are right around the same hallway. The room with the patient dummies by the office of the scholars dept. is where our labs are gonna be. Now this is my understanding from what I was told. The only difference I think might be is where we do our clinical's. My clinical's is gonna be in the Coral Gables Baptist Hospital. Which I'm glad, it's a nice area, and a nice branch hospital. :) What hospital are your clinical's at? Btw I never realized the Homestead outreach code that mdc placed on our schedules. But I think thats just a "technical code" since were not really taking classes at MDC. But I'm calling tomorrow early in the morning to the department at MDC and Baptist just to get some clarity.

MDC Spring 2012 :)
Hello! It's great to see others in this forum got into the program. Congratulations! It was not easy. AlexLL, I got called around 12:45-1:30. I don't remember exactly I lost track of time at that moment. LOL. Thanks Coren! I hope you get in. Fingers crossed over here!! :) Neyla, don't ever get ever discouraged. You all made great accomplishment getting to this point. So nothing is ever a failure, just an opportunity for another door to open that is meant for you. Good Luck! Naty, HR will be calling us this week to go in to turn in our medical paperwork, and do the background check Baptist Hospital requires. From what I understood, orientation dates were gonna be given to us after HR process is complete. I'm gonna call tomorrow to get the full details, and get back to everyone. Raptor, My friend who got in the Baptist program last semester at Nova, said they don't call if you didn't get in. Basically she put it like this. If they call you and you get a letter in the mail, your in, but the call is sufficient. If you get the letter in the mail and they never called you, then you didn't get in.

MDC Spring 2012 :)
Hey Mishell, I am having the same issues, I called and spoke to the department in charge of sending the information to MDC. They said there is a delay because of technical issues. I called MDC as well and they said to not worry, classes will not be dropped by the deadline which is Dec. 5. Students will also not be removed from the program since they know it's an outside matter outside the student's control. At MDC they got my information and will be calling me as soon as they get the background info, but to keep looking at my email everyday for the confirmation. Once you get the confirmation email, print it, and bring that to MDC to finalize the paperwork. Good Luck.

MDC Spring 2012 :)
Hey Guys, Anyone here did the background check at MDC mobile spot the week of Nov 7-11? I did mine on thursday, the 10th, and I haven't received an email or any confirmation from school that they received it. I'm getting concerned since it's getting close to the 5th of Dec, the day of the deadline for the requirements and the background check is all I'm missing. How long did it take for everyone else? Btw, I just got a call from Baptist, interview is tomorrow at 3! Been preparing all day, I can't wait. :)

MDC Spring 2012 :)
I'm still waiting, which I'm glad because it's given me time to prepare and practice. I'm wondering if everyone gets a chance to interview. I hope so!

Well, maybe nursing is not my calling for now..
I just read your title for this forum, and I have a couple of suggestions. First and foremost, is think about your past endeavors and experiences that got you to the reason why you chose the route to become a nurse. Try to find the passion you have for this career, and really absorb that moment to start. Don't get lost in a moment of frustration when all around you, you might have endless possibilities. See if you can go to another school and try possibly a BSN route, or ADN route at another school. BUT DON'T GIVE UP! Believe in yourself, envision your success, and all the luck to you!

Hypothetical question
Hello! Well, the best option for your is to talk to the department in charge of your employment. First, read the policies of the company to see if you need to leave a 2 week notice in order to file a report that you will be resigning your position. Like this, it gives you time to think about what your gonna say if that time comes. Second, Let them know your situation not going into personal details, and just stating the reasons why you have to resign. Third, if you need any more pointers, youtube has great videos for ways to bring the subject of a resignation in a professional manner. Last, I wish you all the luck. I'm sure everything will work perfectly well for you. :)

I got fired today
It wasn't meant to be for you. A rejection(fired) is never the easiest thing to deal with but at the end it grants you experience for future endeavors. Since it was only orientation and you weren't there for a long time. Your not obligated to put it on your resume, or even address the situation in future interviews. Brush yourself off, give yourself some positive reinforcement and move forward. I'm sure in the coming days or weeks, if your continue to search you will find the job that will fit you perfectly. Just wait, in your next position you won't even think twice of this facility that let you go. Good luck to you. :anpom:
