MDC Spring 2012 :)

Published

Hi guys!

I was hoping to get to know some of the people that will be applying to the Spring 12 nursing program.

I've been following the MDC Fall 2011 =) thread and I'm super excited for them, but now I'm even more excited since this time it's finally me who is applying to the nursing program.

So...who else is applying???? :redbeathe

Hi guys,

I am sure many of you attended orientation yesterday.

How was it? What did you learn about the program that you didn't know or that was exciting or intersting or maybe not so interesting.

Give us some feed back. Us homestead students will not attend orientation till the EOM.

OMG! I was checking the classes at the mdc site and it seems like they are already registering the accelerated students, which means that they are registering us right after orientation... :D :anpom::anpom:*wine :hpygrp:

Could any accelerate student check their schedule and see if I'm right?

We had to register ourselves today for A/O. MDC did not register us. A word of advice if you guys have to register yourselves during orientation take a laptop or use a computer on campus to make sure you get the classes you want. Make sure to look up course reference numbers ahead of time. According to the A/O chairperson about 400 people applied to the A/O and 50 we accepted. I was surprised to see a few people wearing shorts and tee shirts which I thought was inappropriate. I would have kicked them out right then. Just my two cents.

Dolfinz,

I thought we're suppose to wear comfortable clothes (so to speak)? I mean, granted I wouldn't wear shorts -.- but I mean what did you wear and what type of information was providing during orientation??

Did everybody have all their paperwork that mdc requested?? Did they talk about the ati test yiu guys have to take tomorrow??

Feels like I'm asking a million questions already by Im just curious lol.

Hello! This is my first time posting and got the info regarding about this website while waiting for the shuttle. Congratulations!

I started the AO Orientation yesterday and today we are doing the ATI testing.

You can dress comfortably without wearing shorts and flip flops to orientation. It's the first time you will see some of the staff in the Nursing department and some of your peers. There's no need to wear a business suit, tie or high heels but wear something decent at least the first day. The orientation room is very cold so take something warm if you don't like to be cold. Not everyone had their paperwork ready for different reasons but they were expecting it to be completed. They ended up just giving us a deadline date to turn it in. The ATI test we have to take is just a test that will help them see how we learn and where are critical thinking skills are. It's nothing that you can study for. They will give you a few packets of information including a book list.

Thanks dolfinz!

Did orientation finish a bit earlier?

Just got a call from Baptist, and I'll be interviewing with them tomorrow afternoon. I didn't get any information other than where and when to show up. I would imagine calls will still be going out!

I just got the call from Baptist also and I will also be interviewing tomorrow.:yeah:

I wish you guys luck!!! :yeah:

Specializes in None as of yet..

Hey Guys,

I just read most of the posts, and a lot has happened since I last came on!

Congrats, for those that did the interview for Baptist and good luck to those that are preparing for the interview. I'm optimistically waiting for a call. :)

I just got back from my physician, and all my paperwork was ready for my drug screen, and physical along with the vaccines. My background check was done a week ago, still waiting for that. Became CPR certified two weeks ago. I'm ready for tomorrow and ecstatic! I can't wait to meet all of you and the rest of the class.
