Hi guys!
I was hoping to get to know some of the people that will be applying to the Spring 12 nursing program.
I've been following the MDC Fall 2011 =) thread and I'm super excited for them, but now I'm even more excited since this time it's finally me who is applying to the nursing program.
So...who else is applying???? :redbeathe
naty,
we will not see the book advance till we have schedules because the amount of the book advance depends on the amount of the total credit you are attempting. and i assume we will not have our schedules till all admits have gone to the second mandatory meeting in which we take that ati test that will place you in the sequence that better suits your learning style. at least this is my understanding. hope it helps.
Hey everyone so I didn't apply to the Baptist scholars program for a few reason but I just wanted to say that the questions they are asking are a lot like any interview for a hospital. I work at Jackson right now and had a few of those questions, especially the... what would you do if you disagree with a coworker. They just want to know how you work with other and how you will handle tense or stressful situations because I promise you hospitals are full of tense and stressful situations. What I've learned having to work with nurses and doctors everyday is that everyone will always have a bad day but its your reaction to it that matters to them. Who wants to hire someone who isn't a team player or someone with a short temper? This all sounds like common sense but some people may not :/ good luck with the interview!

Thanks for the reply naty. I really hope you get in. That means a spot opens up for me at the homestead campus. I was one of the first to get my acceptance letter but due to a problem accessing my email I wasn't able to accept my spot in time. Now I have to wait until someone drops out or gets accepted to the scholars program. Pls keep me updated on your status.

Hey Neyla,
I agree with you that the answers to these questions are sort of gray...
I'd focus on patient care, so the question about the person calling in sick and lying, I'd say something to the effect of whether or not this can have an impact of patient care, then I would take action by alerting a supervisor anonymously... (remember: you need to be on the employer's side).
For me, my biggest mistake would be something to the effect of procrastinating and not starting nursing school sooner.. (this, of course, is applicable depending on your age :))
