MDC Spring 2012 :)

Hi guys!

I was hoping to get to know some of the people that will be applying to the Spring 12 nursing program.

I've been following the MDC Fall 2011 =) thread and I'm super excited for them, but now I'm even more excited since this time it's finally me who is applying to the nursing program.

So...who else is applying???? :redbeathe

So is it too late to apply for the Baptist scholarship? I was told to apply after I got accepted into nursing school. How would I go by applying? Any and all info would be great thanks! And can't wait to see everyone who is attending the Homesteaf campus.

I haven't yet received a call from Baptist. I think that everyone does get a call if they meet the requirements, although I'm not certain. Maybe they're going in alphabetical order? It seems like calls didn't start going out until Thursday or Friday, and I would they that scheduling 50 or 60 or 70 or however many interviews wouldn't all happen on the same day. I think we should just sit tight, stay positive and see what the week brings.

Hey you guys! I havent checked in in a few days, been kind of busy with school and work. I am glad to see everyone is doing well and getting ready! I know a lot of people have their orientation this week and I cant wait to hear all the great information! Sadly the homestead orientations isnt until the end of the month... :crying2: But we will be okay! Almost there! As for anyone going to the homestead campus FT, cant wait to meet you all! I have bought a few books already. As far as school books go, they havent been crazy expensive, but they arent cheap. I probably should have waited til orientation but I like to read ahead. Has anyone bought a uniform? A watch? A clinical bag? I havent even been down to the bookstore yet, maybe I will make it down there Wednesday. Wish you all the best!

I went last week to the bookstore and they told me the even Homestead Campus nursing students wear the uniforms that say Medical Campus on them... is this true? Is there a bookstore in Homestead? I just don't want to buy them and then end up having to buy another pair the say Homestead Nursing. Has anyone bought a rolling bag? Any recommendations?

I did buy a rolling bag off of amazon. These books are very heavy and there are a lot of them. My only reccomendation is try and buy it off amazon. I was gonna buy one off a store on the internet for 100$ and I found it on amazon for 60$. Look around and find one you like and read the reviews. As for unifrom, I have no idea. I plan on going to book store on Wed if I can make it. Ill post any information I can get!

According to our deadline for the checklist , CPR, background check, medical stuff we are supposed to have it by orientation this Thursday, I'm missing the medical stuff and might not have it ready by Thursday has anyone spoken to the nursing department if this is going to be a problem?

Hey everyone.. I just found out about this website from a friend of mines and i want to congratulate all of you guys!.. and for those of you who havent heard back yet..dont loose hope! =) I got accepted to homestead campus fulltime. Im so excited and stressed at the same time. I was reading all the posts about buying the books already to start reading the material and it makes me so nervous...Is it really that intense? I just got call today from baptist for an interview this monday at 2:30.. has anyone else received a call? Does anyone know how their interviews are?....
