Hi guys!
I was hoping to get to know some of the people that will be applying to the Spring 12 nursing program.
I've been following the MDC Fall 2011 =) thread and I'm super excited for them, but now I'm even more excited since this time it's finally me who is applying to the nursing program.
So...who else is applying???? :redbeathe
Im freaking out right now. I read in the forum that there is no generic part time offered in spring ??? However when i went to apply the adviser helped me fill out a part time one . So now im wondering if this women even knew what she was doing!!!!!!! Helppppppppp
As I understood it, part-time is only available in the fall. That being said, don't take what is said here on the threads for granted. Go over to Advising and get it from them. For good measure, get it from the Nursing school as well.
I thought you had applied to generic fulltime and transitional, no?
Hey guys! Hope everyone is enjoying the beginning of the semester! I was just wondering if anyone had heard about how many people applied to the program this year? Not that I will be able to anything with this information but... well my nerves are wracked and I think I would feel better knowing! lol. Also, I know that in order to begin the program you have to do your medical screening before. It includes your vaccinations and titers plus two PPD tests. Does anyone know what the time frame is that you have to have these. Just because I just got all that done last week for work and im hoping if I get accepted to the program these results will suffice. Equalling less money spent and less needles in my arms... Just wondering. Hope you all are well!!!
PPD tests take at least one full week from the day they administer the test. The first reading is done 48hrs after the initial exposure followed by a second administration one week after "the first administration followed by a reading 48 hours after that test. As for the ones you used for work speak with the advisors so that they can give you an idea of what you can and can't use.
Thanks alexl and zephead. I got hired at Mercy Hospital as a paramedic emergency room technician. So hopefully this will help get my mind off of this whole nursing thing!Zepphead quick question. I was reading the thread from the fall semester and I could have sworn that you got accepted last semester... what happened?
Hi madarmes! I have actually been volunteering at Mercy in the ER. I just started the generic program at mdc so it's a tough schedule but I'm just doing it until clinicals start in a couple weeks. I'll be there tomorrow. Do you work in the ER every day?
Hey DEA069,
Actually I am starting at mercy tomorrow, my hospital orientation begins tomorrow and then Ill have unit orientation down at the ER. But after that yes I will be at the ER every day I work. so maybe one day we will meet up! You said you started the generic program already? Thats great? how is it going for you? If you dont mind telling me, what scores did you get accepted with? Just trying to see where I stand! I wish you the best of luck, ill let you know when I will be in the ER so maybe we can see eachother!
Happy waiting to the rest of you! We are nearly half way through september!
So I keep hearing different things about when will we be notified of our acceptance/rejection... Some people say mid-October. Others say by mid-November. One advisor from the medical campus even told me around Christmas while on the phone with her. Anyone with some inside information?! Anyone know someone from the nursing department with some real, credible info? :smackingf
