Hi guys!
I was hoping to get to know some of the people that will be applying to the Spring 12 nursing program.
I've been following the MDC Fall 2011 =) thread and I'm super excited for them, but now I'm even more excited since this time it's finally me who is applying to the nursing program.
So...who else is applying???? :redbeathe
I hear it's almost impossible to be hired at Jackson as a full-time nurse. There is per diem and pool nurses but getting into the Jackson Health System as a full-time is supposedly challenging. Has anyone else heard this?
I haven't heard this, but it's not a shock. Given their current financial state, I'd imagine that they are trying to add as few salaried professionals as possible.
Am i the only sucker checking my email everyday???? Where is october!!!!!!!
Don't worry October is right around the corner!
I don't even bother in checking my email once a week! I'm really happy that I'm like nothing it's going on! I have no fear, no anxiety, no excitement, no nothing. I'm like in a limbo, which is more than good for me since I can get really desperate and anxious when it comes to this subject. I think this is the way I'm coping to not go nuts! and I'm really thankful for it. Lol

Im freaking out right now. I read in the forum that there is no generic part time offered in spring ??? However when i went to apply the adviser helped me fill out a part time one . So now im wondering if this women even knew what she was doing!!!!!!! Helppppppppp
I kept hearing that too. and this year for spring 2011 they supposibly tried offering part time but something went wrong, which cause a huuuge problem for applicants of Fall 2011. The pool actually shrink because they had already accepted people in the spring but since it cancelled they were guranteed a spot for fall.. well that's what an advisor told me..
but with MDC you never know.. So cross your fingers!
Good luck!
So...my friend was going crazy because of the waiting, so she went to the medical campus and begged some lady at the front desk to give her any information at all. My friend was really worried because her total score was in the low 80's and she thought she wasn't going to make it. The lady told her that this semester the teas scores weren't as good as last semester, that the majority of the people applied with teas scores around the 70's. She told her that anyone with at least an 80 total score should get in. This is not official of course, they still haven't finished processing the applications, but she said that she has been handling all the applications and for what she has seen the possibilities of getting in this time are a lot higher than last semester. I know that last semester the first cut was around the 81.2 total score...so I feel really positive that we all gonna make it into the program.
I really think that anyone with a 75 or higher (maybe with less) will get in.
Good luck to all of us!

I don't think they can send the acceptance/rejection letters around Christmas. They have to give us time to do all the shots, CPR course, background check and to finish all the other paperwork they require before orientation, and all that it's impossible to do in only a few days or weeks. We obviously need like a month notice or more in order to do all those stuffs. So...I still think that they will let us know by mid-October.
