  1. Hi madarmes! I have actually been volunteering at Mercy in the ER. I just started the generic program at mdc so it's a tough schedule but I'm just doing it until clinicals start in a couple weeks. I'll be there tomorrow. Do you work in the ER every day?
  2. Hi Brenda! I start my clinicals on 9/22 also. Are you in seq 1?
  3. Did you get other colors than yellow? And none of them bleed through? I definitely need those! Thanks for letting us know! The highlighters I have go right through the page.
  4. Can they have shoe laces? I know they have to be all white but the shoes at the book store have no laces and I can't remember what they said about that during orientation.
  5. Hi guys! Pixie, mine is the same as yours. And yes, it's only 10 credit hours first semester. Lazgon, I have no idea what non-credit classes they registered for you but I would definitely go speak with someone in advisement about it. If you log into your degree audit it will explain exactly what is needed for each semester.
  6. I have a 2 1/2 hr break on Wednesdays too. My first class gets out at 10:30am and my next class doesn't start until 1pm so we can study together if your break is the same time.
  7. I have Mondays off too. Eagles, Isn't it great that clinicals don't start till Sept? So we can study Thursdays until then.:redpinkhe:nurse:
  8. Good Luck to both of you!:redpinkhe:nurse:
  9. That's all you need to do! Make sure you fill out both pages of the appeal online (1st page is degree audit update 2nd page is Request for financial aid reinstatement) and click submit on the 2nd page so it gets submitted in the system. Print out both of those pages and then write a paragraph or two explaining your situation. ie previous degree, etc. I did that as a formal word document. That covers your statement and supporting documentation. The hardest part of the process was waiting for an advisor...it took forever. Actually it wasn't that bad compared to Wolfson campus last year...that was a 7 hr wait! I'm very happy to be at the medical campus now!
  10. That's pretty funny! I just pictured someone in see-through pants being chased by security! Lol
  11. Both sequences have Fundamentals Tues 8am-10:30am with different professors. Maybe we could all meet someplace after that class on the 1st week since everyone from both sequences will all be on campus.
  12. Jfrommich, I'm kind of nervous but excited too! And yes, I had to go through the appeal process because of my bachelors. Let me know if you have any questions because I finished submitting everything yesterday.
  13. Salutations, How did you get the syllabus? I need to give a copy of mine for the type of financial I'm getting. They won't buy the books without it and I don't want to wait until school starts to get it. Did your instructor email it to you? Thanks!
  14. Yes, clinicals are only 1 day a week. If you're in sequence 1 it's Thursday, if you're in sequence 2 it's Friday.
  15. Both sequences have fundamentals lecture Tues 8am with different professors. Sequence 1 clinicals are Thurs 7am-2:30pm and Sequence 2 clinicals are Fri 7am-2:30pm. I think there is a max of 10 students per clinical site. The other classes are spread out during the week so it just depends how they were scheduled. But yes, mon-wed we will be on campus taking classes at the same time. It's 5 classes total for full-time (1st semester) and they are all during the week. I just added it up for you...it's 9 hrs 5 min/week in class & lab plus 7 hrs 30 min in clinicals so 16 hrs 30 min total. They told us during orientation, realistically we need to study 3 hrs for every 1 hr in class. Which means 16 hrs 30 min of class time + 49 hrs 30 min of studying = 66 hrs total per week. Now I didn't account for any 10-15 breaks they may give us in longer classes and during clinicals but that would probably only take off 2 hrs MAX anyway. I'd rather see the worse case scenario so it can only get easier from there. But technically that hardcore schedule will only be for 1 month because the clinicals don't start until Sept 22 and the Intro to Nur Math & Pharm ends the week of October 24. I'm so excited for classes to start but I know once they do I'm gonna think back to my summer and wonder "what was I thinking?":uhoh3:
