Anyone from a state with mandated HPV vaccinations? How is the compliance and if you could give me a snapshot on a pushback scenarios? How is administration handling those not in compliance? TIA
In January of this year the American College of Pediatricians issued a pretty dire warning regarding it.
This post really interested me, thus with a search, I found SNOPES that says the American College of Pediatricians'(ACP) claim is False. It went on to say that the organization is very small, one employee with 150-200 members Vs the American Academy of Pediatricians with 60,000 members.

It really concerned me because reports are saying that the vaccine has decreased the number of women being diagnosed with cervical cancer.
Having a connection with a real-life STD clinic, the number of men coming in for "wart treatments" has been reduced to almost nonexistent, to the point that the liquid nitrogen provider called to see if the clinic was ordering from a different source!
Warts are pesky ******* and difficult to get rid of, with some people needing weekly treatments, to say nothing of the cost to the patient.
I, too, DO NOT WANT the government invading our private lives. Education to the public is necessary.
I mention the HPV vaccine when I teach sex ed, but it isn't mandatory in my state a this time. But they were looking at making the meninococcal vaccine mandatory (right now, only mandatory for campus dwelling college students and high school students living at boarding schools), so who knows?
Side story: I will say I got this vaccine right when it came out because my mom insisted! I was older than 18 at the time and it was NOT covered by insurance, costing $250 for each shot. I was pretty poor, so to get me to comply, my Mom covered the costs. She was adopted and since she does not have info about her past family medical history, she told me if this could help prevent a cancer that might come from her side of the family, she was making sure I got it! :)
Ughhh, this scares me. I'm very much a supporter of the HPV vaccine, I got it as a teenager during the first few years it was even available. The last two years I've had abnormal pap smears but do not have HPV. Due to this, I did not have to undergo painful, additional testing/treatment because the type of dysplasia it came back as is labeled atypically normal is no HPV is present.
That said, I do not like the government mandating things when it comes to the human body. As I am pro choice, I feel I also have to support those who do not want certain things or in theory my beliefs are hypocritical. I do not think its smart to not get it but I prefer to leave that option to each individual.
But, gonorrhea is treatable after transmission, and doesn't cause cancer. Just playing devil's advocate here.
Right, but not being an identified cause of cancer in no way makes it potentially less devastating and life disrupting. It's just by a different pathway.I think the analogy holds.
Looked (pretty quickly, albeit) and couldn't find out anything about possibility of transmission from a vaccinated person to a non vaccinated person.Anyone?[
I would think it wouldn't be transmissible, as it is not derived from a killed nor a live virus.
Here's a little more information:
I am not anti HPV vaccine but I do not think it should be mandated. IMO increasing the # of mandated vaccinations is only going to lead to an increase in parents using a religious exemption to be excused from all vaccinations so I think we need to be very careful about what we decide needs to be mandated.

I know it's not a live virus.... the question is how long the transmitted live virus (not the dead vaccine) can be transmitted to another person that is not vaccinated.
