Looking for Nursing schools in California that accept International students

Hello, I'm a graduate of BSN in the Philippines batch 2012 and applied for NCLEX-RN here in California. After completing all the requirements the Ca-BRN wrote me a letter telling me that I have some deficiencies (MS, OB, Pedia and Psych) which have something to do with the concurrency issue and go back to school to complete the said deficiencies.

I asked some schools near my place. One school didn't credit all the subjects that I took which I have to go back to zero and other schools I'm still waiting for them to call back to meet with the counselor about my situation.

While waiting I want to ask if anyone knows some nursing schools that is accredited by the CA-BRN that accepts foreign students to enroll just the deficiencies. Thank you in advance to anyone who will reply to this message :)

I receive my entity code last month and i be able to take nclex, but i decided to wait my nursing school to submit the breakdown of the classes to get the full approval from BON , since the first time the school sent them the transcript only class name (ex nursing 516 instead of nursing 516 consist of Psy and Peds)

BON mail me a note that i be able to take NCLEX but they cannot release the result until those paperwork completed.

What's your actual intention....to re-take the deficiencies or to work and practice in those other states (outside of CA) upon passing the NCLEX-RN?

Did you guys say we can take MSRN because we have BS from Philippines?

Are you able to give us some recent status of what has been happening as it's been almost a year now? Hopefully, you met with some success and already passed the NCLEX.

Specializes in Complex pedi to LTC/SA & now a manager.

Do you have an active RN license? Unless an entry level masters program (includes basic nursing education) you must be a presently licensed RN as a condition of admission.

I would want to ask is this for real... i will be heading out to California to stay and to take care of my loving grandparents if this is true can you show me schools that will allow me to take this and after i can qualify for the CABON examination for the RN

Specializes in Medical and general practice now LTC.

The issue is finding a school and for most there is a long wait for a place

i checked out the BS to MSRN and to tell you the truth i think its ******** because they all gave me this unless Jack2014 can prove that its true that he got the ATT... because this is what they sent to me

Thank you for your email. The only program that we have that will allow students to train and prepare to take the NCLEX is our Masters of Science Entry Level program. This program is designed for people have bachelor's degrees in other fields other than nursing. Since you have a BSN, you would not be eligible for this program. Our other MSN programs require students to already hold an RN license. I recommend that you contact the Board or Registered Nursing (BRN) to find out what it will take for you to sit for the exam so that you can practice in the United States. Please let me know if you have any other questions...... soo Jack2014 did you lie to the nursing community because that is real ******** these are nurses that are trying to become something... so please when you post Jack2014 prove it with evidence and school so that we the nurses that are currently here can find and have a future in the great country of America

There is a school that really gives the program for master. I almost went to one in LA. It cost 30,000$ per sem. That was a year ago. It is better if you go directly to the school and talk to the counselor.

Specializes in PACU.

Jack2014 hasn't posted since May 2014 so you might be out of luck on that one.
