Signs you got the job. VA interview 2018

Hello. Just want to share my experience in VA. So I've been applying in VA hospitals here California in different cities ( North to South) since September 2017. I attended a job fair one time in South CA VA last December 2017. I got on the spot interview with HR I think and she said she'll contact the nursin managers? But no luck after all. I did not hear anything from them even I followed up with thank you email etc. So this 2018 still applying and applying and finally one day. It was last week Thursday 3/2 I got a call from VA which 2.30 away from our home they said they saw my application/resume online. And leave a voicemail saying, they want a interview on Monday 3/5 it was a Ambulatory RN position. So I called and they told me what should I bring and ime of interview. AFTER 4 hours. They called back and cancelled it. Because they said in my resume I only have LVN experience which is 5 years tho I applied in RN position so just wondering how come they cancelled it right? So I was like okay thank you for cancelling it. So MOVING ON! Friday morning 3/3 I sent an email to the nurse manager who cancelled my interview. And I said thank you for reviewing my application etc blah blah and to consider me if the position is not filed yet. SO!!!!!!!!!!! Friday afternoon same VA called but different Unit. They arranged an inteview for Monday which is today 3/5. It was a Geriatric Unt. So I feel confident coz I work in a SNF post acute and acute rehab. So this VA ask my copy of BLS, RN lic, Copy of TOR and 3 Prof. Ref. Interview day. So I give it to them, even a letter recommendation for my current supervisor. I was so on time. And thinking this is my 2nd chance from interview they cancelled right? Interview was 3 nursing manager panel and mostly situational and extensive questions, they want example and experiences. I feel like the inteview was so good coz I can feel and see to their face. So after closing remarks, one the nurse manager noticed that I have no RN exp and ask me why LVN only. So I explained myself blah blah. And they be like "Oh new grad RN? Hmm. Okay will forward you to nursing recuiter to find you a new grad program but email this blah blah after works if no response yet from us. Tho, you are qualified, we're looking for suitability. Blah blah. We contact you in 3-4 weeks." I was like in my mind, "What!!!!!!!!" Idk why but I feel like I did not get the job. And in my mind why they bother to call me without reading my resume? why the whole time of interview did not ask why no RN exp? My heart is so crying. Coz I feel like I'm not gonna get the job Can you guys explain why VA is like this??
  2. Anybody work for FH EO? How is the patient ratio like in PCU or MedSurge-Tele? How is the work load? Salary? Working environment? Please share your experiences guys. I need some advices. Nurse recruiter just call me today. :) Thank you!!!!
  3. I work here San Diego, beautiful Sunnyego lol. Okay so today, nurse recruiter called me and we had like brief discussion and screening, and she said she will forward me to a international nursing recruiter since I'm a IEN. I was like okay lol So she asked me if it's okay or if I want to work in Med-Tele, my preferred schedule, when I can leave my current job or start with with the new job? HAHAHA I was like okay. Then asked my why I want to work Florida Hospital . Then she said how do I like working in Florida Hospital East Orlando? Then yeah, waiting for next call from another nurse recruiter HAHAHA
  4. So for the relocation is it on top of the sign on bonus? how come it's 15K$ at night, is it more hard work? and which hospital in florida you're working for now? Did you accept the sign on bonus and job contract? And yes you can ask me about life as a nurse here in california :)
  5. PLEASE GUYS!!! I REALLY NEED HELP AND SOME ADVICES.. So this 2018, I decided that I feel like, I wanna work in Nevada instead to Florida. My question, -Can I appeal for another interim permit but my application was way back 2016 tho, am I going to start all over again for application process? -How am I gonna ask or email the NV BON to tell them that I did not receive my interim permit before? -Do NV hire RN with interim permits? -Did anyone of you guys waived their english proficiency by telling the NV BON you worked as licensed nurse for 5 years in your current state like LVN, if yes how did you show a proof and how did is the application. Did NV approved it and did not ask to take any test such as TOEFL, IELTS, PTE (it's required by NV if you're IEN) I'm just wondering now, because I did not received my interim permit before (2016) during my initial application to them for RN license endorsement. I have FL RN and I want it to endorse it to NV. Currently I'm here in California and working as a LVN since 2013 and I'm also IEN who got denied for nclex RN way back 2012.
  6. Okay so last July 2016, I applied for licensure by ENDORSEMENT of my Florida RN license for Nevada BON. I did complied with all the requirements except I did not take any english test like TOEFL/IELTS/PTE. NV BON replied that I can waive my english proficiency if I work as a nurse for 5 years which is, this year will be my 5th year as working licensed nurse (LVN) here in California. I am IEN who got denied that's why I have 2 nursing licenses in different states. Then, NV BON also mentioned to my letter that they will issue an INTERIM PERMIT as RN and good for 6 months and I need to get my permanent license within that time frame. BUT!! I never received my interim permit, even in their website my name was there and no interim permit was noted. I did not followed up with them because I moved to different city here in cali with family, got busy to work and I kinda ignored my Nevada dream as RN that moment. Please I need advices. Thank you!

Florida Hospital 10k sign on bonus

I also heard that they don't have techs/aides/CNA's there? I work in SNF as charge nurse (desk nurse/admin) we do have CNAs but in acute care settings such as hospital like in PCU/TCU/CCU/MS how come no techs, and if there is, they only have 1 for like 15 patients? How come. Is FL really in shortage??

    Moving to Florida from California

Thank you much! and I agreed, I search multiple times and I guess FL really pay RNs ranging to 22-26$ you're lucky if you got paid 28$ above. As LVN here in california for almost 5 years of LVN I got pain 25$ with 37.50$ OT and 50$ for holiday with good benefits. I do put consideration LV as well, I applied for endorsement to them way back 2016 but I did not received my interim permit so I did not pursue to take my permanent license. Should I still apply for endorsement ?
  9. True me too! One of the nurse recruiter from Florida hospital is also contacting me and wanting to conduct a phone interview. I'm from california and thinking if I should move to Florida. They have 10K$ sign on bonus too.

    Moving to Florida from California

Okay so I've been struggling since I got my RN license in FL (May 2016). Currently I'm working as LVN here in California since 2013 (d/t I got denied to take RN coz I'm IEN). So this year of 2018 I decided to inquire to one of the hospital in Florida which is Florida Hospital? Apparently one of the nurse recruiter is communicating with me. Right now I have phone interview with her. In the other hand, I saw to their ad that the have 10K$ sign on bonus for 18 months of contract. So I got really interested and balancing the risks and benefits moving in Florida. My friend told me that their salary as RN is not much as here in California but cost of living is much lower. Actually she bought a house already in FL after 4 years working as RN there she also IEN like me. Checking Orlando Hospital, reviews are great and working experience that's why I got interested again, in my mind if they will hire me I'll be working in one the best cardio hospital in FL. My questions, 1.How is the life in FL and working as RN? 2. Do you live alone or you live with a room mate so that it's cheaper? 3. Which hospital do you work there and which one you'll recommend? 4. How much you get paid? I have BSN and 5 years of extensive experience as LVN in different role and lots of certifications like ACLS ECG BLS IV and blood withdrawal. 5. If you work for Florida Hospital would you recommend it, and why? if not why? 6. Which city should I live and why? 7. How long is cost of living there? Please guys. I need some advices. Thank you!

    Approved by CA BRN

So I'm just wondering WHY other my friends got their RN license thru endorsement and licensure without TAKING ANY CLASSES and just simply applied on CA BRN????? Why other people like me still need to go back to school????? I graduated 2009. And my two friends graduated 2012 and 2013???????????? Is CA BRN unfair or what?? It's just frustrating. My initial application was 2012 and of course denied. Then this 2017 I applied for endorsement still denied. I'm getting depressed and envy to other people getting their Cali RN license without going back to school or fixing their deficiencies. Any the same experience like me? please share I want to file an appeal but I don't know how PLEASE HELP!
