Looking for Nursing schools in California that accept International students

Hello, I'm a graduate of BSN in the Philippines batch 2012 and applied for NCLEX-RN here in California. After completing all the requirements the Ca-BRN wrote me a letter telling me that I have some deficiencies (MS, OB, Pedia and Psych) which have something to do with the concurrency issue and go back to school to complete the said deficiencies.

I asked some schools near my place. One school didn't credit all the subjects that I took which I have to go back to zero and other schools I'm still waiting for them to call back to meet with the counselor about my situation.

While waiting I want to ask if anyone knows some nursing schools that is accredited by the CA-BRN that accepts foreign students to enroll just the deficiencies. Thank you in advance to anyone who will reply to this message :)

Thank you so much! I am considering endorsing my license to Cali.Tnx a lot!

Good luck! What year did you graduate in PI? sometimes it really depends on your analyst. But it's good to have your clinical cases ready if ever your analyst ask the school to submit it.

Thank you! 2008. How about you?

I have my clinical cases with me and will prepare this just in case my school lost my cases.

Thank you so much for sharing! I am learning a lot from you!

I graduated 2007. I am already enrolled for my MS and OB deficiency.

My school don't keep our cases after 2 years and I was glad i was able to retrieve it from my files. You can keep your records and hand it to your school incase the board will ask. The school will have it certified and sent it to the board directly.

Your welcome. I've also learned a lot from this page. You can also follow California Board of Nursing - Foreign Graduates on facebook. Lts of good info there.

Hi everyone any school nearby in stockton offers for MS and OB deficiency from BRN. thank you ?

Hello,

Im so sorry if this is off topic for I have not accessed this forum in years. To make it short, I was able to fulfill my deficiencies (MS and OB) at CSUSB- San Bernardino, CA. They are offering the Foreign Trained Nursing Program every summer. I was able to complete the program for 12 weeks only for both subjects. They have limited spots and very strict requirements such as vaccines (make sure you guys have your records or obtain titers for records). They gave me notice for the last 4 spots 3 days before the deadline (it was a Friday when they emailed me, and the application was that following Monday). Make sure you have the funds ready for all the possible programs they may offer you even if they say they could only get you to one class because thats what happened to me, they opened only for MS and when I got there, they had a spot for OB as well -so make sure you have enough funds for this. Please call the school to have you waitlisted and follow up, check your emails regularly and arrive VERY early for applications. Follow the instructions very carefully. Please feel free to ask if you have anymore questions. Don't give up guys! I searched for schools for 4 years before I found CSUSB-San Bernardino. Goodluck and God speed!

hi how much is the total tuition fee for the 2 subjects thanks ?

Hi thanks for the info. I go to Dominican University now. I just finished my Med Surg 2 clinicals last sunday and the lecture will end next month Dec 16, and next year of feb 24th will be OB class. I'm almost done guys. I'm so eager and cant wait for this to be over. Sorry, I dont know any schools near stockton. People from LA travel to attend classes in Dominican. There's only 3 schools I know that accepts international students like us and that is Dominican, Samuel Merritt.. I forgot the name of the 3rd school. The 3rd one is not a university. Anyway, for the tuition fee, Dominican, it's $6,195 per class. They offer school loans too. Hope this helps.
