Lehman College 2018 Fall Generic BSN/ABSN applicants!

Nursing Students School Programs

Published

Hello, everyone applying to Lehman's BSN/ABSN programs for Fall 2018!

I am currently working on my application and will very soon take HESI. I know application period does not start until January 1, but I thought I would create a thread so we could get in touch and support each other on the way to (keeping fingers crossed!) being accepted!

Hi! Thank you for sharing your scores!

Do you have any advice on how to study and do well on the HESI? (Or anyone that can help a girl out)

I have the pocket prep app and an old Hesi Admission book, I have some A&P flash cards from years ago but I feel like I do need more.

Thank you so much!

Hey! I don't know if you took the HESI or not already. For the math, reading comp., and A&P, what you're using is good. The critical thinking is what had me worried. I know a couple of nursing students at other schools and asked for their advice. One girl directed me to @tootrn on instagram. She posts sample critical thinking questions for nursing students and strategies on how to tackle those types of questions. I found it to be really helpful. I scored a 930 on the critical thinking.

Hey I applied to Lehman but I feel embarrassed to share scores because everyone else has amazing grades!

My SGPA: 3.4

Reading:94

Math:85

A&P:80

CT: 750 í ½í¹„

So I was told by The nursing advisor that my critical thinking score was good, but when I submitted my application I was told other wise. Does anyone know how that works?

From what I heard the CT scores have been raised to be 800, or 850 to be considered.

Thanks ! I don't think my GPA was competitive enough as well

I've looked pretty hard but I haven't located any sample schedules on lehman's website.

I've found the curriculum, which has been useful for me to use class search on cunyfirst and see the times for those classes, but I'd love to know where I can find one of these sample schedules you mentioned.

800 is passing. I really dont know what they really focus on, I am very anxiou. Someone told me if you do good in CT and have a good GPA you are in.

I've looked too and there is no class schedule sample. However, there is a post on this website and a student broke down the whole 12 months of the accelerated program. I recall, the first semester is M-Th and you can be in the morning or evening group. You will take some courses with the generic program students. And you will take a class for the winter session, M-F with clinicals twice a week. And then Spring semester is M-F and classes will be morning or evening. May will be the graduation ceremony and then you continue your classes until end of August. You have 2 summer sessions. Hope this help. I couldnt find the old post to share the link with you. But this is what i remember.

Are second degree students able to apply for FAFSA? I know we will probably only get student loans but is it too late to apply?

No FAFSA for us. Does anybody knows the student loan process and deadline? I have not apply for one either.

I think you can still fill out the FAFSA form. They'll need an updated one to be able to push through a federal loan application. You still have to go to the financial aid office and fill out the loan application in person. I've filled one out as late as July.

Hey guys!

I was looking up the curriculum for the nursing program and found this. It's basically a report of the GPA range and number of students who were accepted to Lehman's nursing program in 2015-2017.

I'm surprised at the GPA range but this makes me a little relieved. I wish the average hesi score was included too but this is good enough.

Thank you! Are you currently in their nursing program?
