Lehman College 2018 Fall Generic BSN/ABSN applicants!

Nursing Students School Programs

Hello, everyone applying to Lehman's BSN/ABSN programs for Fall 2018!

I am currently working on my application and will very soon take HESI. I know application period does not start until January 1, but I thought I would create a thread so we could get in touch and support each other on the way to (keeping fingers crossed!) being accepted!

Awesome! Congrats. I also got accepted to CNR and Mount St Vincent. I am hoping for Lehman acceptance though.

Thank you! Congratulations to you as well!

Were you accepted for their Summer or Fall semester?

I hope Lehman accepts me too!

The fall...Fingers crossed for Lehman!!

Yes!! Ok I applied for the summer session.

Also, would you happen to know how they make decisions if there are many qualified applicants?

I know you didn't ask me but here's what I've heard: They go by GPA first and then Hesi score (Someone with a 4.0gpa and a 95 Hesi score gets accepted before someone with a 4.0gpa and a 90 hesi score. That person will get accepted before someone with a 3.9gpa and a 92 hesi). If there's a tie, I believe they either go by critical thinking score (higher score chosen) or date when the application was received (earlier date chosen).

Yea I wish I knew more about the selection process. For those applying for the fall, where else are you applying to?

I only applied to Lehman. Fingers crossed.

Thanks CN101 for the info... that is not good news for me. A classmate told me what you said with the exception that she said they focus on GPA and CT instead. Lets see how it goes... Good Luck everybody.

Fingers crossed!

I cannot believe in about a month our fate will be sealed! I cannot wait ;-)

Hi everyone! I am also applying to the generic and accelerated program at Lehman. I am little concern because my pre-requisites GPA is just 3.66 and my overall GPA is 3.3. I passed the hesi with an overall of 90 and CT with 900. For what I read I definitively won't have chance to get into the accelerated, but I am keeping my hopes up to make it for the Generic. Do you guys know how much your overall GPA affects in the decision?

Thank you, and good luck to all of you too.

From what I know they look at both your GPA and your HESI/CT scores. However, there are so many nuances in looking at the scores that is hard to tell how exactly the decisions are made.

Thank you so much for your answer. Do you mean just the science GPA?

Sorry to butt in but those in the nursing department have stated that overall GPA does not matter. They only look at your science GPA. Your Hesi scores are great so you're definitely above most 3.66

me either! I am eager to hear back.

Is anyone finishing up a course this month? I am assuming we should be sending them the official transcript for any pending courses?

Also, does anyone have any insight into what we are required to do if we are accepted. I was planning on going away for the summer but I have no idea how to plan this if I will be required to go to Lehman in preparation for the fall.
