Lehman College 2018 Fall Generic BSN/ABSN applicants!

Hello, everyone applying to Lehman's BSN/ABSN programs for Fall 2018!

I am currently working on my application and will very soon take HESI. I know application period does not start until January 1, but I thought I would create a thread so we could get in touch and support each other on the way to (keeping fingers crossed!) being accepted!

I don't think it is the material as much as it is the instructor. I wrote in my evaluation that the class would work better with probably. 1- A different instructor, 2- as a clicker class ( to reinforce information on the spot) or divided into two semesters

I do agree. I cannot imaging taking such a course over the summer!

I think microbio would work much better as a clicker class. 114 should've been a regular lecture.

I am extremely annoyed with what's going on with our grades right now. I don't want to rant because this isn't the place but things aren't going the way she said they would.

Hi CN101! Hi CN101!! It was a hard class, you are right. But, I don't understand what do you mean with "things aren't going the way she said". Did I missed something? I she taking out extra credits?

Hi Carb87!!!! Have you checked the grades she posted on Blackboard yet? If not, you might want to do so. During my lecture class, S.W. stated that the homework grade we received on mastering was going to be our homework grade for the class. Today, she took off 5% and stated that it was removed because the extra credit for exams 1 and 2 were included in the score. When I did my calculations (removed the extra credit from the score on mastering), it was still the same score mastering told me I got. Unless she's she using an odd form of calculations but what can we do? Let's hope for the best.

I do appreciate that she gives out a ton of extra credit. However, the calculations then tend to become bothersome. But like you said, we can do our calculations, but hers are the final ones.

Does anyone know if the homework grades include the extra credit (the ones we got for not using the hints)?

Guys, So on Sunday night. I was in a panic mood and I started applying to different colleges and I received a decision today from the College of New Rochelle that I was accepted into their School of Nursing for fall. So I highly recommend you guys also apply there.

When I spoke to her she said it would, but I dont know anymore. I dont really trust her

Does that school still accept applications this late??? I thought of it, too, but the price tag just scares me.

So I got an email from SW in which I asked if the extra credit was included in the grades she posted on BB. She said, it was included! So, if you have 110% as your homework grade, multiply that by .2 (20% of the final grade), it comes to 22. So, 2 extra credit points. Not much of an extra credit, if you ask me.

It sounds like people are confused. When she said she excluded extra credit she clarified that she meant EXAM extra credit assignments that are on pearson. They are still included as extra credit on exams and the extra credit points you got from completing homework assignments without using hints it counted as extra credit towards your homework grade.

They do, I applied this Sunday the 20th and got a decision today. They are accepting until July 25th or June 25th I cant remember. The price is scary but you've already done most of the classes and its only 2 years or one year and a half depending on how many of the classes you have taken.
