Lavender?!

How many of you have grown to love Essential Oils as much as I do?:no:? I just had a student come and ask me if I have any "Lavender'? I knew it was probably some Essential Oil. But, I played dumb, and asked the student what it was. But, that NO I didn't have any, nor would I ever have any. I asked him who sent him to ask...He said the Mrs. SoandSo sent him. He showed me a few small scabbed, burned areas from something that occurred over the weekend when the student was too near the stove when dad was cooking supper.

Sorry buddy... no...never...not ever. :banghead: :banghead:

Oh, I'm so relieved this is sarcastic.

Me too . . . wasn't sure at first.

I don't use them but have family and friends who swear they cure illness. I put up a link on FB to poison control warning about essential oils. Boy, did I get lambasted. Ah well, I'm used to it as I do pro-vaccine stuff on my FB all the time.

Wayyyyy to many kids with asthma to even consider utilizing any kind of essential oils in the Health Office.

As a matter of fact, I do not have asthma, but I had difficulty breathing after going into a retail store that had two diffusers going full bore. My throat got tight, nose ran, and had a hard time breathing. I had to leave the store. Wonder if I was allergic.

People are taking this whole essential oil craze WAY too far. They are not meant to be continually inhaled. Never mind that the companies that sell them claim it can cure EVERYTHING!! Modern day snake oil. :sarcastic:

I actually really do like peppermint oil for pedis. It feels tingly!

And for stomach issues.

And it just smells so cool and sharp and clean.

Uh, it's probably time for me to go "read only." This has pushed my feminine side beyond capacity.

Wow , i kind of feel like the odd man out here , but here goes we have a nurse at the hospice house that I work at as an aide, that made a bunch of ; smudges, and oils, mouth cleansing oils, and oils for he diffuser. I gave a bath to a male patient and I mixed Roman chamomile and cypress. I find in hospice that it makes for a very relaxing experience for the patients. But again this is hospice so I am certain that is why we get away with using the oils, because if the comments are an indicator oils are a big NO NO every place else.:whistling:

I've had to call home several times this year. One teacher in particular is highly allergic to them, triggers her asthma. She's talked to individual parents, sent several letters home to the entire class, and we even had a call out to the entire school several weeks ago reminding parents of our "no scents" policy. Yet kids are STILL coming into school loaded up with those oils, or better yet, cologne! On a first grader? Really? Mom was not very nice when she came to get him. I wonder why...I tell them their kid can come right back after having a bath ir shower and a change of clothes...😈

Do you guys wear perfume?

I wear D&G Light Blue. It smells like oranges and is very light.
