How many of you have grown to love Essential Oils as much as I do?:no:? I just had a student come and ask me if I have any "Lavender'? I knew it was probably some Essential Oil. But, I played dumb, and asked the student what it was. But, that NO I didn't have any, nor would I ever have any. I asked him who sent him to ask...He said the Mrs. SoandSo sent him. He showed me a few small scabbed, burned areas from something that occurred over the weekend when the student was too near the stove when dad was cooking supper.

Sorry buddy... no...never...not ever. :banghead: :banghead:

BOOOORRRRRRRRIIIIIINNNNNGGGG - I miss the clown already. It's kinda of like an ammonia inhaler.

:inlove:

And the many layers of the onion just keep on peeling...

Maybe I'll just keep switching it back and forth. I love clowns, so I could keep this going for days.

Do clowns use essential oils?

(You see what I did there?)

LOL I'm sure of it!

This has been an interesting read. I was just thinking about diffusing something in my office, because after eight whole days on the job I'm sick. Coincidence? Maybe, maybe not.

I suppose, though, I'll just stick to good old hand washing & disinfectant wipes.

It's not like ths stuff is witchcraft, lol did no one read my post at the bottum of of the lage, two pages back? (Honestly, I kind of don't blame you, it was kind of long. Still, it took a while to type out on an iphone, so I'd appreciate it if you guys read it :wacky:). I'm not saying that it is definitive stuff, but it's still science people, therefore it warrants keeping an open mind.

Our hospital uses some citrus extracts/oils to help with unpleasant smells or to put on your mask if you're in a really gnarly code brown; we also used them on towels in the OR for necrotic bowel cases. They aren't the new trendy stuff; been using them for years. Overall I think it does the best job of masking the smell of vomit; other smells, not so much.

On the floor, sometimes they work great, but mostly I think they just make the whole place smell like shittrus.

When I was in middle school, were warned that using deodorant only helps if you are showering regularly. The example give was applying perfume to a can of spoiled tuna

I'm a little confused. Based on your profile you are a nursing student. Do you already have the BSN?

Also, about your comment. I would love to hear about the basis for the use of these oils. While I was doing my capstone project I had to sit through a massage therapy professor's lecture on healing, and she discussed the use of humors and the like for healing in a matter that really ribbed me wrong. No actual data presented, and a lot of medical shaming.

His profile also includes a blurb stating he's currently a massage therapist in school to become a BSN.

Not really sure what that had to do with his post though. Most massage therapists I know incorporate oils into their treatments. It's quite lovely.

Nah, his name is cool. I would say that MTtoBSN means he's becoming a BSN. Where he will learn about real science.

Thanks for the clarification

I enjoy using them for myself on occasion but I would never expect to see a nurse handing them out. (hospital CNA)
