June 2008 NCLEX support group

Published

This thread is for any upcoming graduates taking NCLEX in June of 2008.

To start off with I would love to hear if anyone is taking Kaplan, or Drexel or other prep courses and why did you choose the one you did? I am looking into them and I am just not sure which one is best and why.

Thanks!

I found out this morning that I PASSED the NCLEX that I took on Tuesday (June 17). I had 265 questions in 4 1/2 hours and did not think I could have passed. What a relief. It is amazing how a test could make me feel so undone and restless. (we go to school for years to come down to this ONE test and it makes all the difference...crazy!) I can relax for a few weeks. I start work as a med-surg RN on July 14. woo-hoo!!!

It's not over til it's over! Keep up the faith and hold on to Hope!

Congrats

Well, I just got home from taking it....got 75 questions and I feel HORRIBLE! I KNOW 100% for sure that I failed...my last 4 or 5 questions seemed a lot easier than they should have been which is a bad sign. I didn't feel confident answering any of the questions which totally sucks! The strategies that kaplan teaches only helped for about 2 questions! I had about 15-20 SATA, 2-3 drug cals and a TON of meds and very little priority which is also another bad sign.... All I can do is wait and hope and pray for the best! My friend is taking me shopping and to lunch today to keep my mind off of it, so that will be nice, then I plan to have some drinks tonight with some other friends! I work tomorrow night which will be good and keep me busy...Monday morning can't come fast enough! Thanks again for all of your continued prayers, support and encouragement! I still have faith that I'll be telling you guys on Monday morning that I'm an RN! Have a great weekend and best of luck to those who still have to take the test!

Don't give up hope. My last question was a SATA, but I thought it was the easiest question out my my whole 75 questions!!! :) It was just r/t a medical Dx that I knew all about!

15-20 SATAs are good.

Like I said, try not to be down......You just may have passed. :)

Don't give up hope yet. I have a friend who took the Nclex the same day I did and I can't believe how much your test seems like hers. Plenty of SATA, and her last few seemed easy to her too. THe only difference is that she had 5 calculations. Guess what she passed!!!!. We found out yesterday. It is a long wait but when you see RN active you will be so excited. I'm sure you did fine. Good Luck

Hey Lobo,

I just got home and I feel horrible. I took 110 questions which is probably bad anyways. I had lots of priority, 10-15 SATA, but only 1 med calc. I feel like crap and it would be a serious miracle if I passed. My last question was priority too. I don't know what to think at this point. I hope for the best for you. Hang in there. We both have a long wait!!! Enjoy the time spent with friends. I am about to call up some of my friends now to go out. Still praying...

I know someone that just passed with 90 questions. The # doesn't matter!! Hang in there! Don't throw in the towell just yet!

You may be wasting energy frowning!! :)

I take my NCLEX this Monday, 23rd. I've been working on Saunder's CD and then another site that has more NCLEX prep questions... Seems like I continually waver between feeling ready for it, then feeling totally unprepared!

I do well on quite a few questions, then hit several in a row that I miss... or I do an exam and think I do well on it until the very end I get like a 68% on it! AUGH!

Anyone else in the same boat prior to taking the test and then actually pass? I can't wait for this to be over with!

I was in the 70's around most of the Saunder's CD tests, and I passed with 75. I realize that all people are different, but I think that's good if you're making above 70%.

Suzanne's plann calls for above 75% the first round, if not, study that portion. I really didn't, but I did do the questions over and over.....probably OVER 6000 questions between studying for the HESI and NCLEX.

Good luck to you!

I felt horrible when I left the test on Thur 19th. I had 78 questions one calculation, a couple sata and the last few seemed too easy but guess what. I found out this afternoon right at 48 hrs that I passed! I am a RN!!! Everyone still waiting dont give up!

Please dont feel so bad, I am sure that you did great. Every person that takes this test seems to walk out feeling like they failed it. Dont give up hope, I bet you did much better than you think you did ( :
