June 2008 NCLEX support group

Published

This thread is for any upcoming graduates taking NCLEX in June of 2008.

To start off with I would love to hear if anyone is taking Kaplan, or Drexel or other prep courses and why did you choose the one you did? I am looking into them and I am just not sure which one is best and why.

Thanks!

In my opinion you are better off not doing ATI. We had to do it in school and I HATED it! It was figured into our grade--and I NEVER did good on it. I would NEVER go by the predictor-- I got like 97 or 98%, I can't remember, but my score on the test was in the 60's%! How does that equal out?? I wouldn't put a score in the 60's with passing the boards... My teachers in school told me when we were taking practice tests (it didn't matter which ones) and we were scoring in the high 80% to 90's then you were ready to take the boards. And that is what I plan to go off of.

I'm taking it June 16th. I have NEVER had test anxiety but as soon as I set that date I got a GOOD dose of it!!!! I am not paying for any review and have not started studying yet but I plan on hitting the books again tomorrow! I did pretty well on the HESI-- 986 and they say that it is about 99% accurate for NCLEX pass rate but I don't buy that and i'm gonna hit the books!

its almost our test month guys!!!!! GOODLUCK AND I`M PRAYING FOR JUNE TEST TAKERS AND EVERYONE ELSE WHO IS TAKING THEIR TEST!! LOVE YOU ALL!!

I haven't gotten my permission to test yet, I think I should be getting it sometime this week. My ideal date would be sometime in the week of the June 16th. My question is, I've been studying so hard and have done very well all through LPN school but I cant seem to get out of the 67-74% range in med surg. practice exams. What am I doing wrong?

I set up my date yesterday. June 5th...[ahhhh!] I've been practically sleeping with my Kaplan. lol Actually, I'm going with the flow, not overwhelming myself.

Good luck everyone!:D

Hi there,

Just wanted to join in and say that I am testing on June 9th. I can use all of the good thoughts I can get.....

I just finished day 2 of the Hurst review today and it seems to be going great.

I got my ATT today and scheduled my test for Tuesday June 17, 2008 at 0800. I am nervous, but excited. I did well on HESI, but I still have nerves regarding the NCLEX. My prayers go out to each and everyone that will be taking the "big" test, as my daughter calls it, during the month of June.

I think no matter how well we did in school or how well we did on HESI, that darn NCLEX is scaring us to death. I know it is for me. It is constantly in the back of my head. But, I think that could be a plus if we use it to our advantage. Its a little reminder not to take it lightly and to study. Its the end to the means..lol. After this dreadful, life changing exams, our world and future opens up!!! Keep on studying everyone...we are almost there!!

Hello everyone!!! Are you ready? I scheduled my test yesterday for June 16th. I am freakin out already. I was doing the virtual ATI, but I dont like it. I signed in with the Hurst Review and find it to be very helpful so far. Im doing it online. Good Luck to everyone who is taking it soon.:wink2:

I'm taking the NCLEX on June 13th (yes, friday the 13th).

I feel very overwhelmed, I really do not feel like I learned anything in nursing school except how to take vital signs, literally. I took a sample 250 question test today and missed 83 questions! :(

I guess the only thing I can do is continue to study and pray.

I am scheduled to take my test on June 18th! I am completely terrified and can relate to all of you who are preparing to take it in June! I feel like there is way too much information to even try and study...so I am going to just practice question after question and look up information that I don't know as they arise in my questions! I am also taking Kaplan, which I pray helps me pass this thing! Good luck to all of us! We can do this-it's just another hurdle to jump over in order to achieve our dreams of becoming nurses! My prayers are with you all and God Bless!!! :heartbeat

:tinkbll: OMG!!! I have never been really nervous about a test, even when I took PN boards but let me tell you, I scheduled for the 14th of June and I was shaking by the time I finished. I want to study but I am really having a hard time trying to decide where to start.

I know I am not strong in labs or maternity so I guess that will be a start. Good Luck to us all !!!!!
