June 2008 NCLEX support group

Published

This thread is for any upcoming graduates taking NCLEX in June of 2008.

To start off with I would love to hear if anyone is taking Kaplan, or Drexel or other prep courses and why did you choose the one you did? I am looking into them and I am just not sure which one is best and why.

Thanks!

My exam is in the beginning of the next month.

When your guys say SATA (select all that apply) can you give me an example what NCLEX is asking?

I want to make sure I understand SATA.

Thanks

An example SATA question that I made up on my own would be:

The nurse would place which of the following clients on droplet precautions: Select All That Apply

- A 46 year old client with meningitis

- A 42 year old client postop day 2 after a hysterectomy

- A 16 year old client with TB

- A 55 year old client with an upper respiratory infection

- A 22 year old client with HIV

- A 14 year old client with Rubella

They can be way more complicated than this and also sometimes but rarely are they any easier! I hope this helps! THEY ARE DREADFUL and I DESPISE them!

SATA= the devil! :angryfire :devil:

I don't like them either, but have decided to look at each practice question in terms of how a SATA would fit it.

Many are 'which is NOT right', or 'which IS correct'. Therefore, all of the other answers would be marked in a SATA for the opposite question. Get it?

Best of luck to those testing this week!!! I test Wednesday!!!!!!!!!

I take my test in the morning. As for the SATA questions...I don't know one person that likes them. :banghead:They are horrible!!!

Good luck to those who take it soon or have taken it and are awaiting results.

This is me after I take the test and see the "PASSED" results.

GOOD LUCK again to all of you and think positive thoughts.!

I passed wohoo!!!! Holy crap!!! That was intense waiting for the results!!!

:yeah::yeah:Yahooo!!! Congratulations!! :yeah::yeah:

:yeah::yeah: Congratulations to Sumdae, Sewon16 and RNcMoxie and anybody I didn't mention here. (there have been a lot of success stories for June)

I hope that the good luck and vibes continue for the next few weeks. I still have a week and four days until I take mine. I sure hope I pass because I don't want to look at another text book again after next week. :banghead: In the meantime back to review and question trainer 6 today.

I'm so excited for all of you who are passing the NCLEX, hope those of us yet to take it pass too.

To those having to restest, we are still cheering for you!!

My family thinks I'm going to go in and ACE the NCLEX because I ACED the HESI. I hope they are right! HESI claims to be what, 99.49% accurate in determining the outcome of your NCLEX?

I wish I was as certain as my family is. It'd save me a awful lot of grief! :)

Fun 2 care-Good luck to you!

Sounds like you have been studying!!!!

Your day will come, I am waiting for mine. Just never feel ready to take this exam!

My husband says the same thing and I keep telling him that I hope he is RIGHT! We took ATI. I hope the prediction is accurate for me!!:banghead:

Congratulations to everyone finding out that they passed today!!!!! It's officially my week to test and I have LOTS to do between now and next Saturday! I am trying to keep focused and motivated to put forth 110% of my time and effort into studying this week! I don't have to work or anything, so there are NO excuses as to why I can't study! Keeping positive and motivated is the hardest part of this whole process! Good luck to all test takers this week- you'll be in my thoughts and prayers! WE CAN AND WILL PASS THIS TEST! Can't wait to hear all the great passing news for people who test this week! God Bless!

P.S. My motivational song for this week is "don't stop believing" by JOURNEY! So, if your feeling down about the test- listen to that song and it will get you back on track and pumped up about passing the NCLEX!

Good luck to you loboscon08!
