  1. I passed!!! took it the 17th for california board of nursing and saw my name on the website today!!!!!!! What a great feeling!!! :hpygrp: ironically enough, it's the day of my graduation/going away party....and we made nursing jello shots with plastic syringes..haha...(not sure if that's appropriate for the website but hey..im pretty pumped!) :hpygrp:
  2. you may want to try to start looking for the october openings/september openings because i think all of the summer ones are full....
  3. well they do have new grad programs (as far as I know)...but the thing is..most of the jobs that start in july/june are already full because we applied back in march/april (i applied january/feb...)...so you are most likely not going to find a new grad program until october...that's what i would say...good luck :)
  4. well i was confident as i can be ya know?? are SATA and priority a good sign?? :)
  5. just got done today! shut off at 75.. awaiting my results!!! congrats to everyone who is passing!! :anpom: :lvan:
  6. ahh i take mine tomorrow morning...wish me luck!!!! i did all of Kaplan qbank, question trainers, went over the incorrect ones again...reviewed the book for the things my instructor told me to...i guess thats the best i can do!!!!!
  7. thanks so much! keep your head up and if you start to panic stop and close your eyes and say "pass, pass, pass, pass, pass" to yourself!!! visualizing that you pass will make it all the better for you to stay positive-i will say a prayer for you on friday Jen!! :)
  8. say a prayer-i take my test on Tuesday.....I'm nervous already but hopefully i can overcome the nervousness! diaphoresis... tremors... anxiety... check! haha... best of luck to anyone else taking the boards this week!!!!
  9. Hey there-For those of you who are anxious..upset and feel like your brains will turn to 'mush" when you go to take the NCLEX..my friend laura just took (and passed!) the NCLEX and she said the first thing she did was take the dry erase board that they provide and write "LAURA, RN, BSN" at the very top..she said anytime she felt inadequate or got scared..she kept referring back to this white board.. :) hope this is a tip that can help some of you!!!! I take my boards on the 17th (next tuesday) and im super nervous!!! ahh!!!
  10. Hi so I am taking the NCLEX on June 17th...I took the Kaplan review last month and have been going through the Question Trainers and the Qbanks...I hate the Select all that Apply and I'm horrible at picking the correct answer-i always get it down to 2 and then pick the wrong one haha. I have a lot of anxiety on test days so wish me luck!!!!!!
  11. Hi, I am taking the NCLEX in June (the 17th) and I took the Kaplan review...it was highly recommended by my school and our school has a very high passing rate of the NCLEX so I chose to take the suggestion :) I feel like it's helped, but I'm still nervous!
  12. since i am from Illinois i decided to start applying back in january, and i got a call late january from the nurse recruiter but then didnt hear anything back for a little while, i had also applied to scripps and sharp. i finally made a few emails and phone calls to monica, the nurse recruiter who i had spoken with and she was surprised that the nurse manager from the unit hadn't called. i finally received a call that same week from the nurse manager on floor 6 (hillcrest location). i spoke with her, set up a phone interview with her and then interviewed and they offered me the job the same day. :)
  13. hi i read your reply to a thread about living in san diego. i saw that you lived in imperial beach? im not as familiar with san diego but i am moving there mid july..i will be working at UCSD..any tips for locating apartments?? thanks so much!!
  14. i am a month from graduating from nursing school and I was diagnosed with ADD yesterday...for a long time i thought it was depression and anxiety that was causing my grades to take a plunge ...but today i took a computerized test (and took my new medication this morning-concerta) and concentrated on the questions and material better than i have in a year and a half... it feels good to know there's a reason for my difficulties but it does kinda seem like a bummer thinking about taking medication long term
