This thread is for any upcoming graduates taking NCLEX in June of 2008.
To start off with I would love to hear if anyone is taking Kaplan, or Drexel or other prep courses and why did you choose the one you did? I am looking into them and I am just not sure which one is best and why.
Thanks!
Hello All,I tested this morning and for 52 minutes I was in a total daze. I don't know what I expected but that wasn't it. I had 34-37 SATA and 17 dosage calc. questions. I only had 1 med other than the dosage calc. and let me tell you, a whole lot of the SATAs were infection control questions-like who to room with who and what types of precautions to use. I didn't think it would ever end. I didn't feel like I was being tested on nursing knowledge or how I would react to anything other than a stupid test.
I have heard that the dosage calc. were lower level but if that is true why would I get another SATA after answering one. I thought if you miss a question you either get that level a question next or a lower level.
I am sure that this is one test that I will repeat and I can't even image doing it again. I only knew 4 for sure, without a doubt and that is a horrible feeling because I have talked to many who said theirs was sooo easy.
Sorry to be a downer. the wait is on I guess, I so dread it.
Congrats to all you who have passed. Don't let my stress bring you down.
i don't think the number of dosage calcs or sata really has any real bearing on whether you passed... just wait and see how you did!
So its now been officially 48 hours since I took the exam and I haven't found out yet. I took it on Thursday at 2pm. Looks like some people on this thread took it on Thursday and found out today, but I'm figuring that they took it at 8am, and this is why they found out today, instead of Monday. Maybe I'm not going to find out until Monday since I took mine in the afternoon, but I'm trying to not read into the fact that its been 48 hours and I still can't see my results on pearsonvue. Like many others, I had 75 questions, but was very unsure of myself the whole time despite exhaustive preparation, and was shocked when the computer cut me off at 75. I'm obviously pretty worried that I failed. We'll see soon enough I guess.
I really appreciate you all and your encouragement, I think I am just in shock right now. I was just trying to remember the test and how bad I messed it up and it dawned on me that when I did most of the dosage questions I didn't even read the question, I would just click on that awful calculator and get busy with it, oh well, I hope they wanted the usual. Oh and by the way, make sure you watch your calculator closely. When I would put say three 0's in, when I checked it only two were there. So go slow with the calc.
For those who haven't tested yet please study your infection control and know who to room with who because I wasn't given the option of a private room and they were all good answers, it was truly a guess on that one. But seriously I had a lot of questions that.

Thanks for the advice, Travel Soon! I have always had a hard time with those types of questions, so I will be SURE to study that stuff again! I am sure that with that many SATA questions, you passed! Hang in there and keep the faith! I test one week exactly from today and I want it to be here and over with so badly! Let us know when you find out that you PASSED!
I sure wish I could type the word passed and it be for real but I just have a bad feeling. On to your test now loboscon08: There were 7 of us that took NCLEX and finished within minutes of each other today and all had 75 questions. No body had under 15 SATAs, all had tons of infection control ie. droplet,airborne,6 had lots of endocrine[not me],and the dosage questions, I had the most and 1 other had 3 but the other 5 didn't have any of those but had a lot of med questions. I forgot about the priority questions but we all had alot of those too. Good Luck to you
Hi everyone.I am having mini panic attacks here. I just took the NCLEX test yesterday. The test shut off at 80 questions. I don't know how I did. I have heard that math are the "easy" questions and that priority questions are the "hard" questions. Well, I had both types of questions. Did anyone else pass who had a a fair amount of math questions?
I'm sure it can go up and down, depending on how you answered each given question. There is hope. :)
I hope you get good news soon!!
Took mine yesterday, I'm scared to death... I feel like I had to make an "educated" guess on almost all of them. I had 75 questions, about 10 SATA, and 1 calc.
I keep checking the pearson site about every hour... I just want to know! (And pray to GOD I passed!!).
Congrats to all that have passed, great job!
Luke
same here... tested yesterday and impatiently awaiting results - due to the fact that questions were VERY tough and it cut off at 75, i'm pretty sure i did ok b/c to fail i would have had to be doing awful on much easier questions... BUT that being said, I've still got some anxiety going on here. :plsebeg::wtosts:

I would like to know if you took Kaplan? Those infection control questions are very hard, I just know that infected patient should be with infected patient, for example MRSA with another MRSA patient, or Pneumonia with another Pneumonia patient, and then all the patient that had recent surgery is considered clean patients. I am going on Wednesday, and I can't study any longer. I am so tired of waiting for my day and I am terrible with SATA questions, I don't even know any tricks to answer them because sometimes I just pick more then what really is needed etc. Are SATA questions really hard or they are right there and it's easy to decide which to pick.
Thank you and I know you pass, because it's sounds like you had real hard questions!!!

Hello I am in Florida, and I didn't pay for the quick results from Peason Vue. Do you happens to know how I check for passing or fail at my BON because I heard that, if you pass the Florida BON will issue a license number in 48 hours after taking the test, I would like to know if this is true or not. If so I will be taking the test June 18th Wednesday and so I should be looking for my license in June 20th? Please respond if any one know about it!! I can't wait any longer I can't look in any book I am so tired I finished with my kaplan and I just don't feel like studying anymore. I am taking a Critical Care Nurse class at my hospital and have test on that too, and I can't not even study for that either I am just done with all, I just want Wednesday to come so I can go take my test, then I want Friday to come so I can be called RN. God Bless everybody, now I am just praying for everybody to pass on this test, I am so thankfull for this group because I am driving my family crazy. I can't even clean my house or cook anything I am in this computer 24/7.:typing
Thank you
Hey there-For those of you who are anxious..upset and feel like your brains will turn to 'mush" when you go to take the NCLEX..my friend laura just took (and passed!) the NCLEX and she said the first thing she did was take the dry erase board that they provide and write "LAURA, RN, BSN" at the very top..she said anytime she felt inadequate or got scared..she kept referring back to this white board.. :) hope this is a tip that can help some of you!!!!
I take my boards on the 17th (next tuesday) and im super nervous!!! ahh!!!

A of people it seems come out of this test thinking the same thing...that they failed. Just remember there are 15 "test" questions that don't even count. I will think positive thoughts for you. I take mine on Tuesday. Best of luck to you and keep us posted.
