Published

This thread is for any upcoming graduates taking NCLEX in June of 2008.

To start off with I would love to hear if anyone is taking Kaplan, or Drexel or other prep courses and why did you choose the one you did? I am looking into them and I am just not sure which one is best and why.

Thanks!

I am so impressed with all of you who study for NCLEX without fail, I have been out of school since early May and have tried to study but had a few personal problems and sickness in the family that I used as an excuse to not study. Now I find myself waiting for the test in the morning at 8:00am and everytime I pick something up to read, it is like I haven't slept in a year and my eyes close. I have never been one to study but this is ridiculous and I know if I fail this thing it will surely be my fault, oh well, I will give it a try tomorrow and see what happens.

I want to say congrats to all who have taken the test whether you passed or not, just having gotten this far is a huge accomplishment and you should be proud of yourselves.

Good Luck to All!!!!!

Well its 6:10 am here and I am awake and getting ready for the NCLEX today. I have cramps (period time, haha) and lets just say my stomach is off a bit. I am nervous as hell but I am not gonna let it get the best of me! I am drinking my diet coke..not a coffee person..and getting rady to go wash my hair. I woke up and thought to myself..yes it is finally here. After today, my life will change once again and I will offically become an RN. I wish I could come home afterwards and sleep for the next 48 hrs till I can check the results. I didn't study much yesterday at all. My mind tended to drift off and lab results, positioning, and all that stuff would fill my mind. So last night before bed I took a long hot bath, gabbed with my sister on the phone, then climbed into bed put a movie in and drifted off to sleep. I did wake up once about 4 am and thought...is it time yet? But I did manage to fall back asleep till my alarm went off at 6am. All of the June test takers...wish me luck and say a prayer for me. I am going into the bowels of hell today...but I will emerge FROSTY!!!! lol...

well guys,

I have rescheduled my nclex for July 21 at 8am

I need some luck and prayers so this time i can pass!

I can honestly say that i feel like i will do better this time around

i want to be a RN so bad i can just taste it

be honest with me, Does anyone know a person in my shoes (my shoes being, best GPA in class at 3.5, sigma theta tau honors and i never made below about a 75 on any test in nursing school) and failed the NCLEX?

I thought i was prepared but hey, i am a humbled nurse tech right now embarrassed that I cant pass boards

thanks guys

even though i am now scheduled in july I still feel a part of the june group

Good luck excitednurse2b!! :saint:

Good luck tomorrow, travel soon! :saint:

Baceball6...sometimes it's not the test that is making us do poorly, nor a lack of knowledge. Sometimes it's just the thought of failing that makes us fail!!

Study more, answer more questions, don't read into the questions, etc, but most of all, go in confident!! YOU CAN DO IT JULY 21ST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

gatorgirl4ever....welcome to 'posting on the site', and congratulations!!! :yeah:

I can only imagine how you feel right now, but I do know that it isn't how smart you are. It is a combination of things that allow one to do good on tests. It may be that you had a fight with your spouse the night before or you have a headache or your just plain nervous as heck, either way you are an individual and you need to keep telling yourself and those you make remarks about failing NCLEX that if you can pass Nursing school then this test might take you twice to pass but at least you have that opportunity which is more than the average joe can say. Keep your head high and try some relaxation tech. before testing next time. Try to pretend you are actually in the patients' room with each senario and see if that helps answer the questions. I know it sounds stupid but I have made it this far with a 7th grade education{GED later}. But you know what I wanted to be an LPN so I did it and now I want to be an RN so by golly I'm going to do that too.

I'll shut up for now but please stop thinking of yourself as a failure because trust me you are not.

Thanks to all of you for the well wishes for tomorrows test. I really appreciate it.

I can't get myself to start studying this AM...every time I start, I end up back on here and my MySpace page. LOL

I swear, I "REALLY" need a 'vacation'.....I really need to pass the NCLEX next week!!! OK...here I go to try again!
