I didn't see a July 09 support group thread up, so I thought I'd get it started.
I'm taking the NCLEX-RN July 3rd for the first (and hopefully only) time. I figured I'd get it done before the holiday weekend so I could at least enjoy some of the time off instead of spending the holiday chained to textbooks...as I've done for the last two years.
Good luck to all of us in July!
I graduated 5/9/09 and took the NCLEX 7/2/09. I did the Kaplan review, which I highly recommend, and completed the exam in 75 questions. Now I had heard that finishing at 75 is usually a good sign, but when my screen turned blue at 75 I FREAKED out. I was sure I failed. I spent the next 48 hours agonizing over how I managed to screw this up. I had ample time to prepare, I was an above average student, AND I was accepted in to the Navy Nurse Corps which was counting on me to pass asap, but I truly, truly felt that I had failed. I remember at one point during the exam, when I had recieved about the 8th SATA question, clenching my fists and silently screaming "you have GOT to be KIDDING ME!"
I was so sure I falied that I simply didn't have the heart to try the pearsonvue "trick" until just hours before my quick results were in. I felt a world of relief when I couldn't proceed to the credit card screen yet I still couldn't shake the worry that I had failed. Well, now I feel kind of silly for worrying so much because I PASSED!
I'm typically pretty cool and calm under pressure but this experience darn near drove me to insanity. For the record, this forum and group was a lifesaver! I can't thank each and every one of you enough for sharing your stories. You guys truly helped me through the most miserable two days of my life. :heartbeat
For everyone who is waiting to test or who are waiting for the results, you're in my prayers!
EnsKat,
CONGRATS ON PASSING!!! When will you be attending Navy OIS? I have been accepted also, but I have to take and pass my NCLEX also (July 31st)
