Things seem to be unfolding rather quickly. Former White House aides and advisors are scrambling to cover themselves as they receive subpoenas to appear and produce documents.

It’s rare when lawyers — as opposed to their clients — take the Fifth Amendment. But Jeffrey Clark, the former Justice Department lawyer who reportedly tried to help Donald Trump overturn the 2020 presidential election, is now claiming the privilege against self-incrimination to avoid testifying before the House committee investigating the Jan. 6 attack on the Capitol. He has just been joined in that posture by one of Trump’s main outside legal advisers, John Eastman.

The lawsuit comes after the committee signaled it would pursue a criminal contempt referral against Meadows because of his refusal to sit for a deposition in the investigation into the Capitol riot. Meadows alleges that the subpoenas are "overly broad and unduly burdensome," while claiming that the committee "lacks lawful authority to seek and to obtain" the information requested.
And apparently Mark Meadows had a power point outlining how to overturn election results.

The 38-page presentation, entitled "Election Fraud, Foreign Interference & Options for 6 Jan," is dated one day before the Capitol riot. It's believed to have been submitted by Meadows after he was subpoenaed by the panel in connection with the insurrection.

BTW, noting that HRC won the popular vote in 2016 is not election denial. No lawsuits were filed, she conceded immediately and power was transferred peacefully. There have been no redundant “audits”, illegal attempts to access voting machines, intimidate election officials or stage a coup after that election.
You need more than an unhinged rant to make your point if, indeed, you have one beyond phishing for a fight.
You lost them and you lost now get over it and finally move on with your lives. You n 2 years you can continue McLain about President Trump or President Desantis.
This is what my best friend who is very politically aware said:
"Did you catch any highlights of the January 6 hearing yesterday? The case against Trump is irrefutable--the committee connected the dots from beginning to end, mostly using testimony and documentation from Republicans who worked with and for him. What a ghastly cast of cronies, and how close they came to overturning the election. Chilling."
And he's not a "sky is falling" type of person, he's very well read and reads a lot, a professor emeritus in English, and is a news junkie and I trust his assessment.
But pleading the fifth will get you everywhere.
I think time of of the essence here and if Republicans take the House in November and can somehow stall the hearings they can dissolve the committee and that will be that.

Phrased a bit differently, leaving the economy out of it because that's deflection, such as "do you support what the Jan. 6th committee is doing" and it would probably be 50/50.
You can't have a working economy if you don't have a government that works. It's silly to think that some elected person is going to make inflation just go away or that we can be a successful country with 50% of the people not outraged by by a mentally deranged president. IMHO, it all goes together.

Better to just not respond. It is a mental health booster:)

Yes. But the question is what is on the average person's mind right now...inflation and the economy or January 6th committee? For the most part people are very well aware of inflation but not paying attention to the January 6th committee.
It is very much on my mind that there are election deniers and Trump supporters and they have a voice in the media and in elected officials.
My retirement funds loosing 25% of their value is very much on my mind. Not being able to meet my monthly budget for groceries and having to cut back is very much on my mind.
Like it or not a sitting president and party in power doesn't do well in a bad economy. Listening to Fox News worldwide inflation is Biden's fault because he didn't help the situation. This will bode well for a Republican Candidate for President (please God not Trump). They defaulted to this rhetoric very quick when they were reporting on the January 6th committee.
QuoteTHE PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION OF 2020 WAS RIGGED AND STOLEN!
The same group of Radical Left Democrats who utilized their Majority position in Congress to create the fiction of Russia, Russia, Russia, Impeachment Hoax #1, Impeachment Hoax #2, the $48 Million Mueller Report (which ended in No Collusion!), Ukraine, Ukraine, Ukraine, the atrocious and illegal Spying on my Campaign, and so much more, are the people who created this Committee of highly partisan political Hacks and Thugs whose sole function is to destroy the lives of many hard-working American Patriots, whose records in life have been unblemished until this point of attempted ruination. The double standard of the Unselects between what has taken place on the “RIGHT,” and what has taken place with Radical Left, lawless groups such as Antifa, Black Lives Matter, and others, is startling and will never be acceptable, even to those who will be writing the history of what you have done to America.
Trump writes to the committee. Guess the "you lost, get on with your lives" isn't going to happen anytime soon.

I guess I am just cursed with the ability to keep more than one thing in mind:( Inflation is immediate and January 6th is more existential but no less serious to us in the long run.

I agree and mentioned that I'm very concerned about both as well. I'm concerned about RN to patient ratios and the impact on safety of patients, I'm concerned about the torture animals like pigs and chickens go through in factory farms, I'm concerned...well I have a lot of concerns.
That's one reason I seem to not like deflection. When I say I'm concerned about the violence on January 6th and someone says "well it's not as bad as BLM riots"...well no, but you're changing the subject, and how about understanding that I deplore both of them but want to talk about one of them right now.
Rant over.

Because no one cares about January 6th when Biden has caused so much damage to the country and international community that even then French think he’s a fool. You’ll have it your best shot but you got nothing except failure.
Do we get to measure failure in the same way that Trump measures failure? Hahaha
Nobody cares about the attempt to overthrow our republic on 010621? Maybe you are just speaking for your circle of friends and social contacts because it's pretty obvious that many people care about the ongoing desire to undermine free and fair elections and those election results. Until you can offer up some credible substantiation for this opinion it will just stand as more of your partisan delusion. Thanks for sharing though.
While Macron might speak to his disagreement with words used as Biden confronts Putin's escalating nuclear language, he's clearly not a fan of Trump, the corrupt despot who steals government secrets about France while undermining NATO. Maybe your preferred media doesn't make this kind of assessments.

What a maroon. To me it is laughable that anyone takes this guy seriously, no matter what their politics are. Then again, I can't laugh precisely because they do take him seriously and defend him and turn a blind eye to his obvious lack of character, morals, or intelligence.

As I read this document, I was struck by some things:
The attachments were an interesting demonstration of what the Select Committee had just reported to us. Trump insists that debunked claims are credible and deserve to be elevated on his say so alone... he provides zero evidence of his claims.
What a spectacle.
