January 6 Select Committee

Published

Things seem to be unfolding rather quickly. Former White House aides and advisors are scrambling to cover themselves as they receive subpoenas to appear and produce documents.

It’s rare when lawyers — as opposed to their clients — take the Fifth Amendment. But Jeffrey Clark, the former Justice Department lawyer who reportedly tried to help Donald Trump overturn the 2020 presidential election, is now claiming the privilege against self-incrimination to avoid testifying before the House committee investigating the Jan. 6 attack on the Capitol. He has just been joined in that posture by one of Trump’s main outside legal advisers, John Eastman.

The lawsuit comes after the committee signaled it would pursue a criminal contempt referral against Meadows because of his refusal to sit for a deposition in the investigation into the Capitol riot. Meadows alleges that the subpoenas are "overly broad and unduly burdensome," while claiming that the committee "lacks lawful authority to seek and to obtain" the information requested.

And apparently Mark Meadows had a power point outlining how to overturn election results.

The 38-page presentation, entitled "Election Fraud, Foreign Interference & Options for 6 Jan," is dated one day before the Capitol riot. It's believed to have been submitted by Meadows after he was subpoenaed by the panel in connection with the insurrection.

Uhm, those would be corticosteroids not anabolic steroids.  And no one is going to prison unless its to visit Hunter Biden in the near future.

Uhm, mood swings, agitation, and behavioral changes can accompany corticosteroid dosing. You must not have ever administered any of that class of drugs, eh?

What an embarrassing fail that attempt to be clever was.

Clearly she does not.

I had seen those texts before, so I really felt the most riveting moment was Ms. Hutchinson's description of herself and the President's valet cleaning the rivulets of ketchup running down the wall of the Oval Office dining room after he chucked his lunch at said wall.

Kind of makes me extra glad we have systems in place that prevent one person from launching nukes, especially when that person's forebrain has been hijacked by a primitive, narcissistic rage.

The most enduring theme of this administration may turn out to be the phalanx of people who spent most of their time trying to prevent Trump from acting on his impulses.  I'm thinking of all the things he tried to get the United States armed forces to do, which they refused to do.

What?  Trump was so angry he threw his lunch?!  And, there was sworn testimony to this?  Gasp!

He wouldn’t have been on prolonged dosing so none of those would have occurred.  Nice try but wrong again.

He did that when he found out William Barr did an interview stating he did not feel there was evidence of widespread fraud in the 2020 election.

I personally feel emotional stability is an important quality for a President to possess. It's the unforeseen crisis you have to consider when evaluating someone's fitness for office.

Maybe you feel it's appropriate to make light of that incident, except you exclude the alarming events that surround it, which I take very seriously.

You should really read this in it's entirety.

I was pretty shocked to learn he wanted the Secret Service to remove the magnetometers and to stop confiscating weapons.

You still don't know what you're talking about, that doesn't ever seem to hinder you.

Do you have any evidence that Trump was in a steroid rage because he recently got covid? Or is this what you derived from your hyperbolic extreme left wing propaganda? Or did you think it up yourself?

This person is obviously not a nurse if they don't know about a well known side of effect of corticosteroids.  Please Allnurses.  Could we have some chat opportunities just for nurse so we don't have to waste so much time with twaddle?  I'd PAY for the opportunity.

I don't know. Her testimony was quite concerning. However I have to wonder why,at this time, is she now coming forward. Also, the driver  and the agent apparently are willing to testify that what she is saying about the drive is not true.

Again,in the absence of any defence,I have to take anything this committee presents with skepticism.

However, I do think that if true, they should charge him. But we know that won't happen.

You are obviously a nurse. So why do you not know that not everyone on these steroids will have side effects? Like any medication? I know 80 year old COPD patients on large doses and they do not act angry or violent. Also, lets argue over a idea presented without any evidence.....

Now we have a president who likely suffered some brain damage from aneuryisms over 30 years ago and is now 79, forgets names, introduces others as the president, and needs note cards to tell him when to sit down.  Have you evaluated his fitness for office?

Did you learn Trump wanted magnometers removed, or did you learn someone thinks they overheard him say that?

What kind of information do you think some sort of cross examination might have revealed? For example, police audio was played describing men walking down the street carrying AR15's.  My instant reaction was, "OK, and then?"  I mean, that is illegal in DC, and at least suspicious.  Were these men questioned, arrested, or did it turn out to be not true?

And, then there is all the heresay...

Nothing but a Democrat fundraising show trial.

So much denial, deflection and projection from a Trump supporter when confronted with evidence that his political leadership was/is interested in overthrowing our form of government should be surprising. Sadly,  it's just standard behavior in the Trump era of conmen, grifters and charlatans.

It seems like you are suggesting that all of those Republicans are lying about Trump.

"Fight or Flight"  symptoms will happen with corticosteroids too.
