January 6 Select Committee

Published

Things seem to be unfolding rather quickly. Former White House aides and advisors are scrambling to cover themselves as they receive subpoenas to appear and produce documents.

It’s rare when lawyers — as opposed to their clients — take the Fifth Amendment. But Jeffrey Clark, the former Justice Department lawyer who reportedly tried to help Donald Trump overturn the 2020 presidential election, is now claiming the privilege against self-incrimination to avoid testifying before the House committee investigating the Jan. 6 attack on the Capitol. He has just been joined in that posture by one of Trump’s main outside legal advisers, John Eastman.

The lawsuit comes after the committee signaled it would pursue a criminal contempt referral against Meadows because of his refusal to sit for a deposition in the investigation into the Capitol riot. Meadows alleges that the subpoenas are "overly broad and unduly burdensome," while claiming that the committee "lacks lawful authority to seek and to obtain" the information requested.

And apparently Mark Meadows had a power point outlining how to overturn election results.

The 38-page presentation, entitled "Election Fraud, Foreign Interference & Options for 6 Jan," is dated one day before the Capitol riot. It's believed to have been submitted by Meadows after he was subpoenaed by the panel in connection with the insurrection.

Do you have any evidence that Trump was in a steroid rage because he recently got covid? Or is this what you derived from your hyperbolic extreme left wing propaganda? Or did you think it up yourself?

LOL

Did Trump have evidence that the electing was stolen? Did he have evidence of election fraud? Did Trump receive aggressive treatment for a serious covid illness? Did his medical team tell us that he was prescribed corticosteroids? Do you know the standard dosing and treatment regime for corticosteroids for covid pneumonia? Are you aware of the common side effects of the drugs? Was the eyewitness description of Trump's behavior inconsistent with corticosteroid effects, especially in the elderly?

I might respond to your ridiculous question with the question; have you suspended all critical thought and logic in your need to deny Trump's dangerous corruption? I won't ask if you've thought this nonsense up by yourself because I know that it is fed to you through the right wing media that you consume... exact words and phrases.

Meanwhile, we now confirmed by credible testimony that Trump's post covid behavior was so agitated and alarming that members of the cabinet WERE talking about the 25th amendment.

I know 80 year old COPD patients on large doses and they do not act angry or violent

Did you try to provoke them? Also, you need to be able to breathe to fight.

What?  Trump was so angry he threw his lunch?!  And, there was sworn testimony to this?  Gasp!

This is a good time to provide some context.

Trump was angry about being defied as he was planning the overthrow of our government.  There were republican staffers in the white house who value the country more than they feel loyalty to Trump or party and they came forward to tell "we the people" what they saw and heard and experienced in the last months of Trump's unprecedented presidency.

These are contextually important as well; character matters.  Law and order is not just a catch phrase.  Patriotism is not partisan.

He wouldn’t have been on prolonged dosing so none of those would have occurred.  Nice try but wrong again.

Once again you clearly have no idea what you are talking about and it couldn't be more obvious right now.

So, what would you think if someone over the age of three did this in your house?

Now we have a president who likely suffered some brain damage from aneuryisms over 30 years ago and is now 79, forgets names, introduces others as the president, and needs note cards to tell him when to sit down.  Have you evaluated his fitness for office?

Did you learn Trump wanted magnometers removed, or did you learn someone thinks they overheard him say that?

What kind of information do you think some sort of cross examination might have revealed? For example, police audio was played describing men walking down the street carrying AR15's.  My instant reaction was, "OK, and then?"  I mean, that is illegal in DC, and at least suspicious.  Were these men questioned, arrested, or did it turn out to be not true?

And, then there is all the heresay...

Nothing but a Democrat fundraising show trial.

Well said!! Also this newly found "witness" also was hoping for a position from Trump after he left office. Not to mention both the driver ad the federal agent are willing to go under oath to refute this woman's hear say.

Right, if there was evil Trump supporters walking down the street with AR-15's weapons of mass destruction,  like that wouldn't have been captured on video and plastered everywhere!

Unless they charge him criminally, they can all go home and look for their next place of employment.

So much denial, deflection and projection from a Trump supporter when confronted with evidence that his political leadership was/is interested in overthrowing our form of government should be surprising. Sadly,  it's just standard behavior in the Trump era of conmen, grifters and charlatans.

It seems like you are suggesting that all of those Republicans are lying about Trump.

If they have evidence that the former president was interested in overthrowing our form of government, then they should charge him. It should be surprising that with someone with so much evidence against him,he wouldn't be charge. And...... it's not surprising at the Sametime. That would afford him a defence and thats the last thing this committee wants.

Obviously, that they were the leader of a conspiracy to overthrow the US government.

Do you know thatvall people will not have the same adverse effects that are written in our drug references?

Nice try. You just made up some ridiculous theory about why it was more likely that this hearsay evidence should have more credibility.

In reality you have no idea about any medications he was or was not taking. Nor do you have any clinical proof he was having a side effect of said medication you think he might have beenbtaking. LOL

You sound like the fantastical conspiracy theorist you so often put down. Does this have to do with your social media, far left radical propaganda or your emotions?

And I did not deny his corruption or evidence of such.I said it sounds like they could charge him! I literally said to charge Trump with a crime.

This is reflective of what this committee real intentions are as well as yours. And it is not the truth or justice.

Right. Because no nurse ever has been assulted by a violent elderly patient right? If fact SOB in itself can cause people to physically act out.

But yes, let's keep talking about a silly theory about the former President's possible medical status on Jan.6. Made up by a member on this site.....

It's not even a "nothing burger". Because it doesn't exist. The steroid theory was presented by a member. Not based in fact and evidence.
