Hi fellow students! I am applying to the CEP program for the Summer 2016 start (NAU)- I know the deadline is coming up January 30... just wondering who else is applying/has applied, and how you're feeling? Excited to start? Nervous you won't get accepted (like ME!)? Just wanted to say "hi" and get connected!
Nice! I have my CPR, but I don't have titers or vaccines up to date. I need to start the hep, and I will also need the dtap, I think. I had an allergic reaction to dtap when I was 18 and haven't had one since - kind of worried about that one!So you applied to the ASU CEP?
Yikes! I'm worried about the flu shot bc i had a reaction to one 2 years ago. I applied to nau cep and my advisor said I'm in with them just waiting to be placed with a maricopa college. My first choice was Gcc and then pvcc
I guess the big question's on my mind right now are: 1. How do you study for both UIU and GWCC 2. I know UIU is broke up into eight week classes, but are they hard? I just want to mentally prepare myself. I went online for my first bachelors, and I'm going to do the same same for my second. 3. Where do you do your clinical's at right now? Thanks :)
1.) I just prioritize my work by looking at what is due soonest. I also make to-do lists for myself everyday that way I can stay ahead.
2.) The classes aren't hard per say, but they do require work. You have discussion board postings that you have to do 4 times a week. The other poster was correct in saying it it mostly writing papers though.
3.) We haven't started clinicals yet, but I am at the AZ Veteran's Home by the VA hospital. Most choices were either Scottsdale or Mesa/Gilbert area. We don't start clinicals at GateWay until March.
I am still waiting for any news... I sure hope we all hear something next week! My first choice is CGCC with NAU but I'll gladly take ASU as well! I'm not in school this semester so all I'm doing is working, so the wait has been brutal and slow! I'm wondering, does anyone know when classes actually start in the summer? June?
So who all out there is STILL waiting to hear anything? I'm starting to get nervous...
I'm still waiting. I emailed my pvcc advisor and she said she has no new information and that her supervisor said that we will hear back on or after 23rd when the nursing directors meet. But if the nursing directors haven't met, how did some people already get placed?? That doesn't make sense but I'll go with it lol

Just a wild guess here - but I'd say that the few people that said they were accepted also said that it wasn't their first choice. I know one woman said it was her third choice. So maybe since it was so far down the list, they wanted to be sure those people would still take the position. Maybe they had higher scores than others that had that school as a first choice, so they wanted to see if they'd take the position, otherwise they'd be able to offer it up to others. A third choice school might make you change your mind (hey, not me, but you know they're out there!) Kind of makes sense - but I do have a strange thought process at times.
