Hi fellow students! I am applying to the CEP program for the Summer 2016 start (NAU)- I know the deadline is coming up January 30... just wondering who else is applying/has applied, and how you're feeling? Excited to start? Nervous you won't get accepted (like ME!)? Just wanted to say "hi" and get connected!
I am still waiting! I felt much better when my advisor let me know that they're hoping to have answers by the end of next week... So one week from today! Where did you apply to?
I applied to NAU at EMCC and GWCC as second choice. The advisor went through the choices with me and only had me put 2 or 3 choices down, saying I wouldn't need more because it never goes out past a third choice. That's why I'm nervous- what if I needed a 4th or 5th choice to be placed?? Although, my choices online were all completely filled, so I don't know which set of choices they use for placement. She said since I already have my bachelors I'm pretty much guaranteed in, plus my HESI was a 98 average. But it still makes me nervous when others have answers and I don't lol!

That's what mine said too. And I only applied in person. I filled out both my applications with my advisor and handed them to her. When people talk about online I don't know what they are referring to. My advisor only had me fill out my top 3 choices. Ugh. I have a bachelors and masters and a 90 hesi so she didn't seem worried about it but this wait is killing me!!

Both applications are in person, but the online portion is the application status page on the Maricopa nursing website. You enter your log in and can edit your selections or see if you've been placed. It is currently down for CEP placement but will be back running in march.

Thank you for posting that and clarifying!
1.) I just prioritize my work by looking at what is due soonest. I also make to-do lists for myself everyday that way I can stay ahead.2.) The classes aren't hard per say, but they do require work. You have discussion board postings that you have to do 4 times a week. The other poster was correct in saying it it mostly writing papers though.
3.) We haven't started clinicals yet, but I am at the AZ Veteran's Home by the VA hospital. Most choices were either Scottsdale or Mesa/Gilbert area. We don't start clinicals at GateWay until March.
I would like to start getting my books because someone else mentioned one of the forums that they paid over 1000. What books do you need at GWCC? I have not gotten my acceptance letter yet that is why.

Just a suggestion - instead of actually buying the books now, why not just put the money away like you were buying a few here and there...that way in case books change, or you're told one is not necessary, you don't waste any money. Just stash the cash and save up!

Yeah, it was $985. I agree with the other poster who said to just save. The books can change from semester to semester, so I'd wait until you get the letter for them. The only one I know for sure you'll need is the Davis Drug Guide.

I wish I wasn't in classes! I'm in statistics, and chemistry (which I thought I didn't need!) and it's torture. They are classes I would never ever take in a million years if I didn't have to.
I don't know when classes start. June or July I'd guess too.
