January CEP applicants?

U.S.A. Arizona

Hi fellow students! I am applying to the CEP program for the Summer 2016 start (NAU)- I know the deadline is coming up January 30... just wondering who else is applying/has applied, and how you're feeling? Excited to start? Nervous you won't get accepted (like ME!)? Just wanted to say "hi" and get connected!

NAU CEP Update: I got a call this morning in regards to my application I submitted registering to NAU. The letter and contract from the MCCCD instructed us to enroll at NAU as soon as possible. I did this almost a couple of weeks ago. There was no option for the fall 2016 program at the time of this application submission so I went with the only option given. The call I received this morning was from an admissions counselor trying to find out what was going on. Basically if you have not applied online to be admitted to NAU, don't do it yet. The counselor mentioned that NAU should be sending out info detailing what is to be done sometime in the next couple of weeks. There is a fee that collected to submit your application and it will flag the admissions desk, so if you already did what I had done you could expect a call. Just my experience with the situation.

I didn't do the application when the first letter came out because there wasn't a summer 2016 start. Then I got a letter from NAU saying "hey, you know who you are, even though we don't know yet, feel free to submit an application if maricopa contacted you - using this link" (I'm paraphrasing, ha) and they attached a link - and the link had a summer 2016 start. The link did say there is a $25 application fee, but it also said "defer this?" and I checked yes. Weird, but hey, I'll take it.

Did you not get the letter from NAU with the right link?

Am I the only one getting frustrated with the lack of information and or communication with the schools? There is a lot of rumor and hearsay that the course track has changed and still does not follow what is posted. I received an email from an academic advisor with the following revised course track. One concern I have is that it states there is an in person attendance in the NAU north valley. I thought the course work via NAU was entirely online?

I don't feel frustrated at all. Did you go to both the required informational meetings (regular nursing program, plus CEP program)? They talked about the CEP cohorts at both of the meetings, and when they outlined the NAU program, they told us there were in-person requirements, but that NAU's was only 4 credits, and only during the first semester. When you look at the NAU CEP packet it also says "in person" right on the four credits that are required on campus.

I feel like everything is so early that I don't expect much information at this point. I think they've been doing this long enough that I trust that they know how to get the information we need in a timely manner so that we can be successful.

The communication and information will come. Relax and enjoy your calm before the storm. =)

Reply back from NAU:

"Apparently Maricopa has not updated their website, the track below is the only track now offered, so you would be following that course of classes. There will be some in-person components to NUR 307 and NUR 307 Lab and NUR 330 is all in-person course. You would want to contact the instructor specifically in order to gain the details of these in-person components."

Thoughts on this??

Check your e-mails! I just got a couple about the NAU application and info sessions!

I registered for the Thurs info session and put the Tues, June start as my preference for the class. Definitely getting more excited now and looking forward to meeting some of you in person!

Hi! I picked the Friday date for orientation, I figured there would be less people since most nursing students are eager to get in on the first dates/times for everything. I also picked Wednesday NUR class for the same reason. :)

Nothing here yet. Glad to see the info is coming out.

No, GCC :)
