Ivy Tech 'Fall 2010' Applicants

Published

Hi everyone! I wanted to start a thread for those of us planning on applying by April 1st....

Has anyone taken the TEAS yet? Where are you with your pre-reqs? What campus are you applying to?

I am planning on taking the TEAS in December, so I have enough time to retake it :) and this is my first semester at Ivy Tech. I'm taking APHY 101, ENGL 111, and PSYC 101 all this semester and I will complete APHY 102 next semester. I am planning on applying to Indy.

And good luck to all the Spring 2010 applicants! :yeah:Hope everyone gets in!!!

Does anyone on here know what kind of envelopes the acceptance letters come in? Should I be on the lookout for a regular envelope or a big folder?

Made a stop at the store on my way home from the library for a energy drink to keep me up a little later to study for this APHY101 final tomorrow...ended up with a few goodies too, and am calling it my recipe for success =) Please Lord let me get the 82% I need to keep my 'A'!!! Good luck to everyone who is taking finals this week!!!

Anybody know the average score you need to get in the the LPN programs (Indy specifically)???

Erin-If Ivy Tech is like most other schools, acceptance letters usually come in a big envelope (they include lots of info. you need for accepting and the next steps)

Tarantor-Which Campus are you applying to?

The Indy letters came in a regular envelope like any other letter you would get from Ivy Tech.

Specializes in MICU - CCRN, IR, Vascular Surgery.

I got acceptance letters from Indy and Bloomington, and they were both plain, letter sized envelopes.

LOL you'll have to send me your "recipe for success"! I can't seem to find it in any of my cook books. I'm not sure about the LPN program in Indy but I was told by the nursing receptionist at the Columbus campus that their normal cutoff for LPN was usually in the 170's range. The Columbus campus also had me self-address envelopes that they will send acceptance/denial (praying for the former!) in. So for them, I think its all small envelopes. That is going to be weird getting letters that look like they are from myself with my hand writing that hold my own destiny!!! Its like some cosmic loop and I'll be getting a letter from the future me! *I'm sure I read WAY too much into these things* lol:uhoh3:

I'm applying to the Evansville campus. It seems that WannaBe12 and I are the only ones on allnurses from our campus and we don't know ANYTHING about cut off numbers, etc, etc. All I know about it is what I've read on here from a couple of other E'ville students who applied last fall. I think their numbers were 206 and 212 and they got into the RN program.

Which campus are you at again? Indy?

I got an A on that Micro final! Looks like I'm going to have a 4.0 this semester. :) I'm all done now, except for the last half of my Math 118 final tomorrow which will be a cake walk. Does anyone know when final grades are supposed to be posted?

The more I hear people talk about getting into the program on campus, the more unsure I get. :( I don't think my 208 is good enough. If I could have just taken the TEAS a second time, I think I'd be fine. Everyone on here has a better score than me.

I'm sure that 208 is good enough...did you apply for both programs?

I applied for both - but I really have my heart set on RN. I got solid As in all my pre-reqs (and co-reqs) and I know I belong in RN. The science on the TEAS is what really threw me. It's my own fault though, for waiting too long to sign-up for the re-take.

I got a good grade on my teas but I had one B in psych, which I took at IUPUI about 7 years ago. I really hope my 202 is good enough because I would hate to spend another $300 for tuition and who knows how much for books to retake it. I am sure I'll get into something this fall though...at least that's what I keep telling myself. lol. I figure, I applied to both programs at 4 campuses, so my odds should be pretty good to get in somewhere.

kgle-

wowow! seriously though, it does sound like a nice little filler class. when and if i get into the nursing program i know the last two semesters i will need some extra classes per fin aid reqts and was planning on taking spanish definitely and now i think i will add that to the list as well.

hi emmi,

i finally have time to catch up on all these older posts. i saw that you were wanting to take spanish. it is definitely a good class but it will take up a lot of time. i took it this semester online. the website you go through is neat, but there are close to 100 mini assignments to do. so depending on which classes you take during the last semesters of nursing school, it may not be a good choice. i spent more time on spanish this semester than aphy 201.

Well unfortunately I am going to have to leave Ivy Tech but I am sure the college level Spanish courses are no joke anywhere you go...although I have been told it is more simple and easier to learn than English.

I am trying to find some information about either the University of Indianapolis, Marian, and Harrison College.
