Ivy Tech 'Fall 2010' Applicants

Published

Hi everyone! I wanted to start a thread for those of us planning on applying by April 1st....

Has anyone taken the TEAS yet? Where are you with your pre-reqs? What campus are you applying to?

I am planning on taking the TEAS in December, so I have enough time to retake it :) and this is my first semester at Ivy Tech. I'm taking APHY 101, ENGL 111, and PSYC 101 all this semester and I will complete APHY 102 next semester. I am planning on applying to Indy.

And good luck to all the Spring 2010 applicants! :yeah:Hope everyone gets in!!!

L7Plan9 I think that is exactly correct.

Guys, I cannot wait to be done with my classes!!!!!!!! I have like a million things to do this week and next week. I only have to get a 23% on my final to get an A in anatomy 2...but only if I crank out all this extra credit....yuck!

I'm likin' all these rumors about the Lafayette campus :) I really hope they are true!

Hope everyone does great on their finals!!! I seriously can't wait until those letters are in our hands :o)

I wonder if that means that other campuses are seeing low TEAS scores also. I applied at 4 different campuses this semester. One of my friends is about to graduate from the LPN program in Anderson and she got in with a 180. The receptionist in the nursing department in Columbus told me that the usual cutoff at their campus for LPN was in the 170's. I'm willing to start in the LPN program if need be. What campuses did you apply for?:nurse:

Gilla

I applied at Lafayette and Valpo. I am with you if I have to start in the LPN program first then that would be great! If those cut offs that you mentioned above hold true for the places I applied then I am for sure a shoe in and I bet you are too. Good Luck to you

i heard that too. i also heard that the lafayette campus increased their spots for rn from 50 to 80 - but i have no idea if that's true or not! i hope so!

next week is finals week and i'm not too worried because i have a solid a in aphy102. i'm more worried about my microbiology final. i'm still feeling kind of uneasy about my teas score... i've talked to several people who scored in the 90s. i'm also kind of worried because i didn't turn in my application until a couple days before the due date and i didn't know that in the case of a tie, they would take the person who turned their application in first.

i also really need to get my high school transcript turned in to ivy tech. when i turned in my rn application, they said it didn't need to be turned in right away. i've been busy and it keeps slipping my mind - i'd hate for that to be the reason i don't get into the program.

so much stress! and to top it all off i've been really sick for the past two weeks or so - i can't wait until i just know already.

i hope you are right and that they've increased the rn spots.

i am so thankful next week is finals and i am sure you will do fine on your a &p 2 final and i assume you have lisa?....i am taking advanced anatomy and love it!

i do not know what your teas score is and i wish my score was a bit better but i am feeling confident and positive that i will get in with the score i have. it doesn't make me feel too good though when i do hear people getting in the 90's on their teas.....actually it makes me feel quite stupid really...lol.

hang in there......and don't forget to turn in your transcript :)

Woohoo! I scored 103/100 on the lab practical today! It's the last one and next week we have the lecture final, then I'll be done with aphy102!!! I can't wait!

How's everyone doing?

congrats Tara!! Awesome score!!!

Thanks, Chris! I've got the final in 101 tomorrow and I'm freaking out! I only need 137/200 to keep the A, but I've been studying so much for 102, that I'm woefully behind on 101. Let's hope that more sank in than I think!

Congrats, Tara!

Gatlingburg1, yes I have Lisa. She's an interesting instructor, but I like her and she gives us a lot of opportunities for extra credit which is always good. My final with her is tomorrow and I'm not worried about it. I FINALLY just finished all of the homework that's due tomorrow, though...

I'm still so worried about getting in, I can't wait until I know.

Also - I got an email from Ivy Tech financial aid the other day saying that I couldn't get financial aid because I had reached the credit limit as an undecided student! This (Spring 2010) is only my second semester! And I have a 4.0 - Why is this happening? I signed up for 10 credit hours this summer. Do I need to drop any?! I'm really freaking out. :crying2:

I have Lisa too....thank God for all the extra credit oppurtunities! haha I don't like her tests at all, I'm just not very good at them I guess. I know...that homework takes forever to do!!

Good luck on your final LafErin!! Is it like ours on 2 chaps? I don't think ours will be too bad, I think the material is interesting.

So sorry about your financial aid problems! That's rediculous. I am also a second semester undecided, but I'm not taking any summer classes. That doesn't make any sense to me either. The only thing I could think of would just be to talk with your financial aid advisor, or have you already done that? Ahhh I hope you get everything worked out! Maybe they could set it up so you could temporarily change your major...idk!

Erin - It just means that you need to go to school and fill out a paper with Gen Ed as your major until you get into the nursing program. I had to do that as well and I'm on my 3rd semester.

Erin - Go talk to the financial aid people. The same thing happened to me and they just had me change my major on paper and then it was fine. This was before I was in the program so it didn't matter what it said my major was. Hopefully it'll be the same thing for you.

Thanks. I talked to financial aid today and got my major switched to General Studies, so hopefully soon my summer financial aid will show up on Campus Connect.

Oh, and unfortunately I guess the thing about there being more RN spots for Lafayette was just a rumor. Grrr. Got my hopes up!
