It's the Most Wonderful Time of the Year

Clearly, one of the best things about being a school site nurse is the delightful schedule. I work at an elementary school with plenty going on all day. Just when I'm starting to feel emotionally exhausted...bam, vacation! One of the things I will not be taking for granted during vacation is: eating my lunch without being interrupted 10 times and having someone poop in my office restroom. What will you be grateful for during your winter break?

No getting ice 20 times a day, unless I am refreshing my drink!

Sleep..No alarm...I must be getting old.

Not having to say "please cover your cough" 50 times a day

Hopefully nobody puking on the floor.

No alarm clock for 17 days!!! Oh yes and no puke in the floor! Lunch with adults! (But secretly a small part of me will miss my coworkers and all those morning sticky hugs, PK kiddos do give the best hugs in the mornings!)

check with me next week - the kids are still in their mode of trying to shorten their week / complain about every sniffle.

on a side note... day 3,152... still haven't discovered a cure for the common cold.... but i'm sure that that my students will come back in an hour to check!

Oh lordy that hot chocolate's gonna taste good next week, think i'll add some chili powder for a kick!!!

Almost-Christmas-break-itis is what I call it!

I am in the Northeast and going somewhere warm for my time off and I am so very, very excited!

We have Crazy Sweater Day on 12/22 (what *is* it with that trend?) I wear scrubs, so I'm going to wear my snowman scrubs ( I usually wear solids) and antlers. I know. Hold back the insanity.

My kids both go to the school in which I am The Nurse. They are mortified.

Next week I get to liberally roll my eyes at all the bullcrap around me.

mortifying your kids really is the best gift of all!

LOVE IT!! My kids are out of school now but I participate in all the crazy days at my school, dear hubby will take pics when I leave for work looking crazy and send it to the kids FB pages so they can do the eye roll at "crazy mom".

I'm looking forward to letting my hands heal up. I use so much hand sanitizer at work, my hands are a disaster (dry, cracking)...
