Is someone justified in harassing someone to tell them if they got vaccinated or not?

Say you got vaccinated and choose not to stand in the middle of the street to tell the world. Yet friend or coworker keeps nagging you to tell them if you did or not

I am one of 7.8 billion people on Earth, my decision regarding one aspect of my personal health is of little consequence to public health.

Agree.

I do think there is a distinction between criticizing (and critiquing) vs. name-calling.

This comment is referencing no one in particular as it is an example we've probably all heard in various circles, but take the term "covidiot." Fine, we might be thinking that, we might be disgusted with some of these people's behavior, we might vehemently disagree with them. So...if someone wants to characterize them as "covidiot," so be it. My personal belief is that at the end of the day that sure the heck doesn't help any public health effort; I would go as far as saying it makes it more difficult.  So then the name-caller would need to accept the discrepancy between their purported beliefs and their behavior.

I think the difference between an objective description of someone's views, and petty name-calling has been missed many times in these discussions.  Just because someone doesn't like that a description of their views based on defined and objective definitions is not complimentary doesn't make it 'name calling'.

And that line of thinking is why we are in the mess we’re in on so many fronts, not just COVID.

If you're part of a society then yes, you do.

I know what you're saying and you know what I'm saying.

It doesn't help the public health effort we are all supposedly concerned about. Same reason you might not want to point out that people are "fat-asses" as a way of helping with the obesity crisis.

Sorry, but I hold only to my own morals. If they meld within the framework of society, so be it. Each yin has a yang....I bend as needed. I do not consult the masses of society for my choices in life, neither do I hold them responsible for my decisions and they should expect no less of me.

Society is a framework, but I still am an individual.

Does this mean that if you feel no moral obligation to your fellow countrymen that you also feel no altruistic obligation or motivation for your community and nation? How about feeling patriotic or professional obligation to your society, do you have some of that?

So you "have no moral obligation to the mases" or do you "bend as needed", those are two very different things. I'm certainly not criticizing if you've recognized that your previous comment fell within the definition of "sociopath" and have adjusted your position as a result.

Feelings and beliefs....different matter than obligation.

I agree there is no moral obligation to the masses and will bend as needed for self preservation. The fallacy we play between our ears are theses false dichotomies are all we have. Forward/backward, in/out, good/bad.....

I don't personally want to deal with or be around the (((cough))) Why are your worried? Aren't you fully vaccinated? (((Sneeze..snot...Sneeze))) people

The person who is hesitant to tell you may be fully vaccinated, while the one who says "yep, I am" may be lying to you. You will never know. The unvaccinated liar will get invited to the party, while I guess the vaccinated one who won't tell you won't
