At their age and in their present situation, they can watch what they please!
I totally agree. But on second thought, I can see where a visiting family member with small children might have issues with something very inappropriate showing on the big screen, with volume on HIGH so that the residents can hear it () while 5- or 6-year olds are around.
I'm not sure it would be appropriate to have a bunch of confused, agitated, and combative folks parked out in front of TV if the program showing was of a violent nature---but if we're talking adults who are A & O and chose the movie, there's no problem. If a resident objected, he/she could go to his/her room and just not participate---and ask the group who chose the movie to vote on something a little more his/her taste instead. (Maybe a chick flick next time, j/k!)
A family member complained? (I wonder if the resident was enjoying the movie....)
Anyway, that takes the cake.

The residents live here. They can have what they want in their house, subject to the limitations of living in an institution. The parents don't have to bring their kiddies without checking first, just like anyone else's house.
ITA with the others. Movies are provided to suit the residents, not anyone else's children who might happen to be in the facility at the time. If visiting parents don't want their children exposed to something on the living room TV, they need to take responsibility for monitoring their children.
When I saw the thread heading I thought we were talking something like Behind the Green Door or Deep Throat :rotfl:Let 'em watch what they want.
Now movies like that might be considered inappropriate for their ability to exacerbate medical conditions. They might have to have the ambulances lined up outside the front door.

So....we have a lovely living room at my facility with a huge flat screen tv. The residents love watching movies. One of the family members complained that the movie "Die Hard" with Bruce Willis was inappropriate! These people are adults and they picked the movie. Do all y'all censor what the residents are allowed to watch? It seems we have plenty more important things to worry about.
