If you could go back in time 10 years and give yourself a piece of advice (knowing what you know now), what would it be?

Cherish every moment of every maddening day while they're growing up. Way too soon they're grown and gone and you wish they were right there with you again to hug them whenever you want.

That the things you fear the most often turn out to be the most rewarding. Fear is your brain playing tricks on you.

10 yrs ago... I would tell myself to finish my dang degree, because it isn't going to get any easier with time... only harder

I would have held my ground and been more assertive w/ CNAs and techs from the start. I used to fear confrontation and I was walked on. I am now a very strong charge nurse, but it was quite a strugglele to get where I am.

I would have been much more persistant persuading my dd not to go into Fashion Merchandising. We paid for 4 years of school, dorm, car, etc...only to have her making $12.00/hr. She realizes now that her parents were right but now married with a child it would be almost impossible for her to go back to get a BS in marketing. It's amazing the older we get the smarter our parents get.
FYI - My ds was going to be a history teacher, found out his history teacher with a MS is making $10.00/hr and has to work a second job (isn't that a sad reflection on our educational system) anyway he has decided to go into engineering like his dd. Thank you Lord!

I would have kept my grades up in college and went straight to med school. I'd be an MD by now....or I could have just stayed in nursing school the first time. I'd be an RN by now. Yep.....I'm tired of wasting time!

maybe your son should move here. History teachers make $65000/yr and that is working 8-2 and all summer off...

I would have gone through paramedic school, and been able to have a well-paying, fun job to help pay my way through nursing school. Plus, something extra to do on the side once I start as an RN.

Lose weight then... it gets harder.
Don't talk to that guy sitting next to me on the Greyhound... he'll break your heart.
