Title summarizes it all: If you had the chance to meet any AllNurses member in person, who would you meet? Why?
Note: This thread is just for fun

Aw, SHOOT!
I posted that to ruffle a few feathers and you have to spoil the whole thing by getting all Zen about it, SBE!
AND THEN you have the audacity to say something positive about meeting me AND my medical nurse wife Belinda!
I'm considering filing a grievance.

Oh, I wish you had! I went and it was fabulous, I met so many AN people! A great memory for sure.
I’ve actually gotten to meet several of my allnurses friends IRL. Next I want to meet SmilingBluEyes since she lives only about three hours away. But I’d also love to meet RN/writer (I’ve talked to her on the phone a number of times), sirI (we communicate via PM quite a bit) and the other admins, premnrs, Tweety and The Commuter (we’re all facebook friends), among others. I think we’d all really like each other.

My thought may be debatable, but my perception is that people here are generally trying to do what is right, or help others do what is right, for patients everywhere. If I wanted to just feel better about myself I could post all over facebook about my work as nurse and get plenty of feel-good positive feedback from people that really don't understand the work that we do. But I don't want anyone to call me a hero, I don't want to exploit my experiences and patients by turning them into something that is supposed to get me some sort of admiration. I come here to share experiences and the anonymity, in my opinion, means that there's less ego involved. None of the people here know me personally, I could be a complete jerk and everything I've ever written could be a total lie and no one would know.
For sure there is an aspect of being entertained, that's how message boards build communities. But I also think that there is a common thread among the people that come here in that they want to be the best nurses they can.

Well, JBMmom, I am a complete jerk who works part time being a decent guy, who sometimes posts things which some would consider to be untruths, and I really don't give a rat's rear if anyone knows or not.
Oh no. Does that make me someone from allnurses who nobody would like to meet?
What ever am I going to do with myself?!
