Title summarizes it all:  If you had the chance to meet any AllNurses member in person, who would you meet? Why? 

Note:  This thread is just for fun

That's a very positive perception, JBMmom, and with all due respect, the premise is highly debatable.

This premise that rings of altruism has been previously debated and found to be not based on objective truth: We are all here to be entertained and/or to feel better about ourselves or our situation.

We want to "be better nurses" in order to feel better about ourselves, or to avoid the fear of messing up.

We want to "help others be better nurses" again to feel good about ourselves and possess a feeling of power. As has been said, "Knowledge is power" and we all have a need to feel that we have power, control over our environment.

Now this premise could be interpreted as selfish and self-serving, but it's based on basic human instinct and drives.

There are two basic human emotions, love and fear, and we act out of those emotions which drive our behavior. Apply this premise to any post on this website and it will be found to be virtually unshakeable.

Isn't this fun? I know I'm being entertained!

Being nobody and possessing nothing is a very freeing experience.

It is good you know how I really feel about you, Hoosier, and am allowed to yank your chain.

I actually got that line from a Hallmark greeting card: "Spending time with you makes me feel almost as good as...

...really being with somebody!"

Yes.  Very old.  LOL  We've been posting since the 90's which is hard to believe.  

I also want to meet the people in the Daily Thread some of whom have been posting regularly for years.  

I will forever regret not going to a conference in Orlando years ago where I could have met the admins, some other cyber friends, and the original founder Brian was still alive then.  It would have been a short drive for me but I couldn't make it.

Yep. I got my rather long drive and expansive parking area plowed on Friday...it's snowed about 10 inches since.  Are there any AN members in Hawaii? That's how I was leaning.

Same here ?

But I might go to a Pot Luck Supper with the Daily Diary bunch. I can say that because it is an event likely to be improbable. I am sometimes quite outgoing, but essentially I like the quiet company of a nice dog or cat. 

Actually, there are a number of posters I wouldn't mind meeting. I'd just hate to be a disappointment.

nah I will keep my wild PAC NW thanks. I did love Tampa Bay but would never want to live there......But I would love to meet you one day, Tweety.

Sooo many of you guys that I would like to meet! 

Nurse Beth, Davey Do, JBMom, BTDT, Hoosier, Smiling Blue Eyes, Emergent, JKL, Night Nerd, Wuzzie, SilverBells, Lady Foxtrot, and a bunch of other names that I know I'm forgetting off the top of my head. 

I might not post alot, but I have gained much from lurking on the site here and there. Plus it's a great way to pass the time! Definitely hope to meet at least some of you!
